I really made this thread to keep another thread out of the Recent Topics, sorry. I don't really like IDM much anymore as it is. I do appreciate the...help?

I'll continue, I guess.

from the youtube fader interview on based music (omg do u read the fader? shake your ass, thank me later):

"based used to be like a term, like um, people had it as a negative, when it came out in the bay area, cuz like when i was younger... a lot of people used to, you know, like, oh he's based, and based would mean, like, kinda like slow, or you know you're not all the way, you know, like, based head, like drugs and stuff... and that was like hurtful, like that wasn't cool and i never liked that, that was something that stayed with me a long time, you know, people are cruel and mean to you and stuff and that's crazy." - Lil B

thats how u no u god :cisfor:

[planet of dinosaurs - the album [bc] [archive]]

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

dubstep/house

I always thought that these were like, fuckin' entry level electronic musics. Not to exclude all dubstep & house, as it can be well done on occasion, but it just seems like such an outlandish statement to me to say those two genres are a good followup, out of everything that could be suggested.

meh, if you like IDM (and based music?) you'll probably like Dubstep. Nobody said it had to be avant free jazz or 1970's german prog.

ethnic music

concrete

classical

"modern composition"

free jazz

funk 45/rare soul/northern

all the funky afrobeat that is being reissued

the wide world of private issue lp and cassette

exotica/easy listening

it's endless use the library for free rips

etc etc

but what you're saying about newness in Emusic... it is a massive problem with the kids on laptops. fortunately when i release my new album on Warp people won't be capable of copying it!

weren't you suppose to be on Warp already?

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.
