Recommend me Trippy + Difficult Arcade Shooters

Recommended Posts

Gyruss is amazing, but I like the Arcade version. The sound and music are intense.

Here are two other games I love. They're both Vector.

Major Havoc

Tac/Scan (Start video at 1:25, be sure to watch until 2:16)

I love how both games have different viewpoints of play.

did anyone mention Radiant Silvergun yet? the game kickstarted the hyper bullet filled screen shooter games. There are in 2010 at least 30 knockoffs of it

while it's great and everything, radiant silvergun didnt start the bullet hell shmups, i think donpachi was the first bull hell game.

Oh and Blazing Lazers for the TurboGrafx-16 and Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype.

Also, anyone who loves Bullet hells Shmups or just Shmups in general, needs to go to MAGFest next January, I went to the last one and it was fucking heaven. So many japanese Shmups I would have never played on an actual arcade cabinet 24/7 for a whole weekend.

If Dopachi can be even considered in the same league as radiant silvergun than you might as well include Raiden too.

I politely disagree with your assertion. There is no game to my knowledge that has the amount of projectiles covering the screen at one time as the final boss in Radiant Silvergun

didn't know about those other games, but i still feel that Radiant silvergun brought a lot of new stuff to the table in shooters besides a story

I'm kind of bored with top down/side scrolling ship shooters. While the dodging massive amounts of bullets is fun, it gets old if you can only shoot in one direction.

Ideal SHMUPS, for me, are ones where you can shoot in several different directions, have to dodge massive amounts of bullets, all while losing track of where the hell you are because the colors are so flashy/distracting.

Play some Guwange

I don't think Panzer Dragoon Orta has been posted here. It's pretty trippy aight.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.
