Official NHL Stanley Cup Play-Offs Thread

Well well well the season is just a few games away from post season and the magic of Lord Stanley's cup is about to begin.

so as we have a few days left, you might as well tell everyone who's your team and who you think is going to be contenders in the play-offs.

In the east it's hard and very close this year, Boston, Washington, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, all up for it this season so its going to be hell of a playoffs. All that matters for me is the penguins getting past the first round (probably against Tampa) after all the injuries the pens had this season im surprised and happy that we got in the play offs at all. anyways tonight is a rematch of that infamous islanders game where the islanders practically beat the penguins off the ice in everyway, goalie fights and everything! so there is a vendetta out for the islanders tonight. can't wait..

I don't think I've mentioned it before but I am a Canucks fan. They have had a hell of a season, nobody can deny that. I have a good feeling that they can transfer play like they had last night against minnesota to the playoffs. if they can keep up that kind of work they they are a shoe in for at least the finals. I am excited to see who they play and excited for their final game against the Flames.

GOD i hope the pens pull through! They've had a rough season. FFFFFFFFFFFF I do not like the flyers. I actually live in Pennsylvania right now so my Pens fandom has increased over 9000 percent!

Bcoz of the time differences shifting up to 3 hours more. I hardly get to see western conference match ups, which is a shame as I have a soft spot for the LA Kings. so I'm sadly oblivious to what's going on in the west apart from looking at the standings, which is quite sad as I'm a big Hockey fan and pretty clued up in the eastern divisions.

Hows Malholtras eyeball? one of the most bizarre injuries ive seen this season. Also last week when Ryan Callahan blocked a 105.9mph shot from Z.Chara which broke his ankle was also the ballsiest thing Ive seen this season and probably put the Rangers in the Playoffs

BTW i think the canucks have what it takes to get to the finals at least. i'd say Washington Vs Canucks final

@brandi i'd be really surprised if the pens got into the divisional finals. as much as i love the penguins, i think the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins cant do it. for the last 15 games or so its been a MAF show and a defensive master class by Letang, which is why our PK is high and PP% low it really shows in the attacking stats that we miss him and malkin.

PA- pens vs islanders game - NY already got TWO 5min majors and a 10minute fighting major in 12 minutes. this is going to be a wild game!

Malhotra is doing alright. No clue when he is gonna be playing again but he has had 2 surgeries on his eye and was out last night to accept the Presidents Cup with Daniel Sedin. He was wearing sunglasses. But it was good to see him! Also edler is finally back after his back surgery, played a solid game last night aside from getting a couple penalties.

Washington has been doing well but i haven't seen a washington game that wasn't against the nucks, so that means i've only seen 'em play like twice this season.

started really shit. but somehow got alot of momentum and are on top of the east. i think the momentum started after the winter classic. cant deny ovetchkin being one of the alltime greats.

Going to be disappointed by another under performing Red Wings team.

We lost 10 to 3 the other day against the Blues and they aren't even in the picture. Oh well, it should be good hockey regardless.

Hawks just need one point in their final game against the Wangs to clinch their berth. Hopefully the Sharks win against Phoenix so Detroit doesn't have anything to play for. If Anaheim wins their last game, as it looks like they will do and the Hawks win their game, they will face off in the first round and I don't like their chances as the Ducks have been on fire lately. If the Hawks don't win the Cup, I hope Anaheim does. Fuck the Nucks.

Hawks managed to shit the bed in their final game and gave away the keys to the playoffs. Wild need to win the Stars or Stars can only win in the SO for the Hawks to make the post-season. And there is little chance that the Wild can win with half their roster on the IR.

Oh well, winning the Cup last year will make this summer somewhat bearable. And a Nuck fail will make it oh so much sweeter. Too bad it couldn't be the Hawks to eliminate them for a third straight time.

last nights win against calgary was awesome. 2-0 for calgary until the 3rd period where kesler kicks ass. 2-2, and an OT win. take that shit! fuckin' flamers.

It's more the obnoxious fans (you excluded) that make me hate them. They have some sort of entitlement going on. And then there was some trash talk from them during their first meeting against the Hawks in 09 and it's been clear that there's a good animosity going on between the two teams.

yeah, i completely understand the hawks/nucks animosity but it really is unavoidable. and recently i have been hearing about obnoxious nucks fans, but this season especially. i suppose when you team is doing well you feel like no one and no other fan can step to your shit. plus a lot of assholes who aren't real hockey fans, just wagon riders, come out of the shadows and give us a bad name.

god damn. plus it's always fun and easy to hate on the best teams in any given year, i'd do it all the time!

Well, holy shit. The unlikely happened and the Wild beat the Stars and the Hawks are therefor in the dance. The much anticipated match-up between the Nucks and Hawks is a reality. Obviously the Nucks is a favourite, but I hope the Hawks make them sweat and makes this series go the distance. A game 7 between these two teams would be awesome.
