Oversteps is great. Gets better everytime I listen to it.

A track like O=0 is a great example. I didn't realize how good it is, before a half year or something like that, after the album was realeased. Some tracks where instant classics to me, others have been growers.

sorry if I'm totally out of the loop, but has there been any discussion comparing MoT tracks to their Oversteps counterparts?

e.g. 'see on see' & 'M62'

'd-sho qub' & 'nth Dafuseder.b'

'redfall' & 'iris was a pupil'

etc.

I haven't played Oversteps at all during summer, but as Autumn is just round the corner and the air is changing I keep thinking about Oversteps.

Funny how albums are seasonal. Autechre probably more so.

Played it today, it blew me away. Sounded ten times better than I remember it.

I know you need repeat listening to get into some Autechre, but sometimes I find a long period of not playing their albums is even better. Don't know why, but sometimes a good phase of no Autechre is a good thing. Oversteps I can see becoming one of my favorite Ae releases.

Had the exact same experience with Oversteps myself after a few months of not listening to it. Another thing, together with Confield I think Oversteps is their most mood dependent album. Most other Autechre I can get right into and enjoy anytime & anywhere. I've actually found Oversteps to be best at nighttime or when I'm a bit tired and dazed.

I'd agree that Consteps (lol, I actually typed that, so I will leave it) and Oversteps are very mood dependant albums. Confield more so I think.

It can be no coincedence that as soon as the nights start to draw in and the autumn chill is in the morning, my mind started to think Oversteps. The atmosphere held within the music is charged up like a thunder storm (in space).

I love Autechre and the way they play with my brain.
