I have to correct my first opinion... this album is really brilliant, a great listen and a funny new approach to pop and footwork...

Someone asked about good Machine Drum releases and you should listen to "Many Faces". More hiphopish, but very nice, refreshing stuff. I was hoping for more like this, so my first opinion about "Rooms" was quite meh.

just listened to this album for the first time last night. it's got an interesting sound; it sounds like a fusion, but I'm not sure of what. some of the tracks sound like a mix of uk funky and drumfunk. I don't get the burial comparisons at all.

Yeah, I mean this definitely doesn't sound like Burial but I can see what they mean. It has really propulsive, abstract beats and uses vocal manipulation a lot. Untrue and Room(s) are like opposite sides of the same coin

band-passed autotune glitch out vocals over scratchy vinyl degraded break samples will inevitably sound to burial to me. Even some of the beat structure of the music has a burial hint to it, its definitely more the sound design though.

This reminds me of burial, no other tracks though.

Different from his earlier output, but I think I like it. Wasn't overwheolmed after first listen, but it's getting there. Got some really good reviews as well.

Would like to hear this before buying, why did Plant Mu have to remove all their stuff from Spotify?

Planet mu's site is pretty good for samples though, usually about 1.30 to 2 mins worth of each track. It was certainly enough to presuade me to pick it up a while back.

Mike P was sounding off about spotify over on the ninjatune forum - apparently after 3 years of the entire catalogue being on there and god knows how many 1000s of plays, they receieved a cheque for around £100. I can see why they took their stuff off after that.
