Mick Harris invented it when Kode 9 was still huffing VHS head cleaner in 9th grade

re BCM: i love how protective britains are over their throw away watered down plundered jamaican music genres

haha, yeah I remember saying this about Scorn in my dubstep thread and getting reamed but it is true to a degree, Jamaicans actually invented it....producing music with computers made dub sound like dubstep. SKENG

seriously both of you are like at least 30

u sound like 14 year olds trying to troll youtube

So what are some good early dubstep albums that I should pick up then? Never plunged into this music before.

for early dubstep, check out the early volumes of the dubstep allstars series of mix cds.

also...

the compilation roots of dubstep

bingo beats volumes 1-3 (especially 2 & 3)

horsepower productions - in fine style & to the rescue

here are some of my favorite non-early dubstep albums:

vex'd - degenerate

dusk & blackdown - margins music

cyrus - from the shadows

pinch - underwater dancehall

skream - skream

benga - diary of an afro warrior

shackleton - 3 eps

the two skull disco compilations (soundboy punishments & soundboy's gravestone gets desecrated by vandals)

scuba - triangulation

edit: can't read

Thanks I'll check this out. I heard Kromestar is good too.

What about DJ/Rupture?

breakcore brah, but "eclectic" enough for chinstrokers and pitchforkers to stroke themselves

Britain didn't invent dubstep. Electro/House/Hip Hop have been blasting through time at an un-genre-able rate. Isn't dubstep just a slower, shuffle-y incarnation of the Jungle era?

Country: United States
