this early track was a very very obvious attempt to ape them, because drummond also thought they were the best pop group of the late 80s/early 90s

the Pet Shop Boys wrote some of the very best music going in the 1980s/90s - and "Left to My Own Devices" (which came out in 1988) was a clear influence on the KLF.

but they did write some good pop tunes for sure., nice melodies.

Thought I'd read somewhere that Alex still had recordings of it's original form, maybe on Malicious Damage somewhere. Not sure if you could reproduce it exactly cause it was like a live jam session type thing from what i remember.
