Phoenecia - Demissions

was listening to Brownout earlier today. and was enjoying it ^_^

but it really had me hanging to listen to Demissions. album's definitely on a whole 'nother level of good.

As I'm an ambient-whore it was the track Seba that really did it for me - I was nearly in tears by the end of it !

Still no sign of the CD anywhere...

Great album, but it takes a while to get into. That hasn't happened to me since I discovered Autechre years and years ago.

ok. have managed to listen to some of their compilation tracks and hot damn, this is some awesome material.

a compilation could be excellent. although, 30 tracks sounds a bit excessive. i hope it isn't too bogged down with excess fat :o

Oh god, why did they decide to include Nostrum Remedium and Frendano into this otherwise beautiful album? Those two are completely pointless and add absolutely nothing to the whole experience. Without them, the overall length would still be around an hour (perfect for an album) and we would get the album of the year and possibly the Confield for the next generation. Shamefully wasted opportunity...

those are my least favorites as well, but they are still good and don't really compromise the album imo. I don't see how not liking a couple of tracks can ruin an album...

what? those songs are amazing. you are wrong.

What's so amazing about them? Is there something I'm missing about Frendano? Because I'm hearing just some uninspired klinks and klanks and absolutely nothing in the background. These types of tracks that usually have nothing interesting in the foreground often relay on some subtle changes in the background atmosphere or such, but here that's not the case.

Joseph, they water down the whole thing. If you're just looking at the album as a collection of tracks, then it shouldn't bother you, but if you're experiencing it as a wholesome effort and a reflection of artists intentions, feelings and emotions, they represent abruption in the flow and unnecessary prolong the whole thing.

yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion, man. I find the album maintains a high standard of musical quality throughout.

yeah. frendano is a fairly stripped back and bare track compared to some of the others, but i still dig it and appreciate its place in the album. you want me to explain what's so amazing about it, in writing? it's just..

nostrum remedium, as well, is clearly and undoubtably an amazing track. i'm surprised this song even needs any justification or warranting ! it's all about the big pads.
