Indeed.. the times I listed are the ones Davidac spent such a long time on to make them as perfect as possible after doing a lot of research. And those are also the times of the mp3's I have and your explanation is very convincing anyways.

So I also have to say Joyrex his listing is false unless he can prove us wrong about the obvious covers.. it just have to be those tracks.

Well... you bring up some valid points (I always felt that 'nine rubber wisdom' fit better with the sample of Toni Basil's "Mickey" song). I cut the tracktimes myself from my tape copy, based on best guesses and looking at the waveforms between the tracks. Looks like I need to recut things!

However, there is no track called 'short interlude' on the liner, and I doubt BoC would have 8 seconds for a track - I would say that it should be tacked onto the end of Heysanna.

Are you sure those track times I posted match the ones available online? I'm a bit disturbed about that...

I own actual tapes of OTV2 and AFOT, both with liners, and the "unknown" release (referred to as OTV1), without a liner (I am unsure if it ever came with a liner or not; the handwriting matches the other cassettes and matches other photos of the tapes I have seen online).

It's interesting, Joyrex, that you should bring up that it's not entirely certain that the "unknown" release is really OTV1. I've heard suggestions of the same from others; one person referred to it as the Uncle tape, saying it was put together by BoC for someone's (their?) uncle.

I think the main cause of it being labeled OTV1 was from your comment on XLT when it first came out; however, based on your earlier comment in that thread, you meant to say you presumed it was OTV1. Is that correct?

Unfortunately, the original WATMM threads from that period are lost.

Yes, when I originally got the tracks, they were on a cassette labeled simply "BOC" and I assumed them to be OTV1 (made sense at the time). When I asked my contact at HexSun to identify the tracks (I sent them a CDR rip of the cassette), they said they are indeed BoC tracks, but not from OTV1, and would not elaborate further, for obvious reasons. As it stands now, I've identified a few of the tracks on it as either tracks from the other two tapes or as parts of other tracks:

* yeah "short interlude" should be put merged with most likely Heysanna indeed.. but that doesn't disturb the naming of the other tracks luckily.. imo the names match the tracks.

* I don't know about that.. there are so many versions on soulseek.. it's such a mess. Maybe Moebius can enlighten this matter...

I mean that the way the files were split and labelled matched how they were leaked. The times are generally the same but they're not exact, they don't match up with my downloaded copy.

one thing is for sure:

Boards of Canada WANT people to find the hidden image (and therefor give everyone a fair chance to find out what/where... and check it out).

I am sure that some people have already figured out the code and will keep it for themselves:

a) they are afraid that too many people / uncool people will show up and ruin the event

B) because they are snobs

My 50 cents about a): if the bands posts an invitation (in case this IS one) they want many people to show up.

If they only wanted some friends over they wouldn`t have posted the link in public. Yes, many people hold the possibility that some of them are rotten aples but isn`t that kind of thinking paranoid/negative?

I talked to a close friend 4 days ago (right after we left a Steve Reich concert). I stated that there are only two gogs left I would love to see: Brian Eno live and live. I live in Germany and would fly to UK for sure if I was sure that I will not end up somewhere in the middle of nowhere (with no BOC in sight).

I hope that whoever decodes that message will share his/her knowledge. Yes, it would mean that you lose some of your exclusivity status but you would definately gain some good karma.
