I don't know man, I still think you are a bigger prick than Cameron.

lol so true. why didn't you include a quote from the article in your original post that actually exemplifies how cameron is a dick? why would i want to read an entire article after it's made you so angry?

and also: this has to be trolling, come on.

Honestly, your original post sounded like you were an pre-teen being jealous about social recognition of a well known artist. Upon reading your follow up posts it sounded like you were trying to argue about his usage of the word "trilogy" in a random interview. After page two it just seemed like you were trying to make an issue where there isn't one. And finally when you replied to me it sounded like you were trying to change the argument from the definition of the word to "trilogy" to the word "troll."

So no, I'm not joking, and I still think you are a troll. I'm fine with you thinking I'm stupid, perhaps you should argue about the definition of that word next.

So, to remain off-topic: at what point in time was James Cameron not a prick? I don't see an actual turning-point in his behavior. He's quite consistent.

when he wasn't busy powertripping off of his blockbuster runaway success, enough so that he could state that "my 3 movies that have absolutely everything to do with each other, are not actually a trilogy...just an overall character arc and just happen to have recurring characters and a completely related storyline that will require you to have seen the previous installments to get the most out of the viewing"

it seems like you are overreacting. personally i don't think it makes him a 'prick' or a bad person per se. it does however make him an idiot, but it's nothing to get too mad about. his movies have been terrible for some time now, but at least he is committed to whatever childish vision he has enough to spend shitloads of money on it.

at the very least he is a cut above the average modern action director. Avatar > The Last Airbender, for instance. in these days of Transformers 4 and nonoriginality you can kind of appreciate this kind of guy and his Avatar 'story arc.'

I'd argue that he could have made that remark at *any* point during his career, but just didn't. But because of my fondness of Bladerunner, I'll give you some slack and tell you you're right.

my only disagreement with you here, oscillik, is that you seem to think he's turned in to one. he got quite a self-important prickish body of work

for him to say that his films are not a trilogy, smacks of a pomposity the kind of which you could only attain while being in the situation he is in. to me, he is coming across as saying "my films are above being called a trilogy, they're more than that."

i'm overreacting about as much as anyone else who finds themselves irked by a particular director / actor / musician /etc and their ways.

you guys wouldn't believe how many remixes of this song there are

OK, you're right I suppose. I hadn't looked at it that way, but that's probably because I'm a Cameron apologist

yeah but...i don't believe James "Doesn't make trilogies" Cameron has ever made more than two films that have a continuing storyline, that are his own films. unless i'm mistaken?

Listen up genius, I was referring to osc and his avatar. Also, I gave osc some slack. Not Cameron.

It's too early to have this discussion. When the "trilogy" which is not supposed to be a trilogy, is released, we can have this discussion again. Until then, we're talking about abstract vapourware which could turn out to be anything in the future. And anything could contain "something which explains Camerons use of the non-trilogy 3 part movies". I'd call it "creative freedom", btw. Which he deserves. You can call it being a prick.

unless the films have absolutely nothing to do with those stupid blue aliens, then they are indeed a trilogy of films.

so i really don't think this is an issue.
