I'd agree with you normally that it's a terrible idea, but I've done a good deal of soul-searching on this and I wouldn't mind him using a throwaway Aliens quote to reduce the entire Pandoran civilization to, basically, the backwater kathoeys of the universe.

i was watching the aliens documentary the other night, how is this news to you? he has always been a prick, its his vision or GTFO. still, when he was in his prime he made some of the best films ever. now im less excited for new ventures after avatar, ugh.

Hey, you can't dis on the 3D aspects of Avatar, fucking cutting edge. Battle scene at the end was a treat for my eyeballs. Fucking boring movie otherwise though.

The avatrilogy might be the ultimate solution to this thread. You've potentially created a new concept which allows Cameron and Oscillik to come to some sort of agreement again. The avatrilogy being three movies which have some sort of relation, but is not necessarily a trilogy (by Camerons specific definition).

Oscillik, I'm sure there's still plenty of the original trilogy left for you to be able to live with this. I mean, the entire word is still there. But conceptually there are some extra smoke and mirrors added for "the artist" to carelessly deceive his audience.

I didn't really read much of the thread, but hasn't James Cameron always been a prick? I mean you can pretty much tell he thinks he's a genius, and he hasn't done a single thing that has any merit past its face value.
