Aphex Twin Aphex Twin - Wirless 2011

Hey, here's some videos from Aphex Twin's performance at the Wireless Festival 2011. Apologies for the poor sound quality but hope you enjoy =)

I had 2 free tickets but couldn't be arsed to go to London on such a beautiful sunny day

was there, had free tickets too, was wicked, i was surprised by how early on he played windowlicker (3rd song i believe) he didn't play that unreleased squarepusher track :( the lasers in shape of the aphex symbol were pretty awesome and i liked how he seemed to jog on stage and start playing straight away. when he started it was rammed but by the end had emptied a bit, probable leaving to see chemical brothers who were i thought were kinda boring (some great visuals though), except when they played hey boy hey girl and the crowd went nuts. he played some nice hard shit which the crowd reacted well too and ended with some jungle then some noise. little mosh pit going on at one point.

the bit where he played the track with the vocals (tibetan?) on top was great and quite weird (can be viewed in one of the videos below).

unfortunately i was working in the press bit all day (free drinks! meet katy b) so i missed most of the music up until aphex but what i heard was dreadful pedestrian dubstep/electro, so aphex supplied a lovely contrast, and i think part of the reason i was so unimpressed by the chemical brothers was probably because i had seen aphex before hand. the wifey loved aphex as well, her favorite bit was all the noise at the end!

I was there right at the front, fucking ace. Even though the last half hour or so were agony as I thought my bladder was going to rupture. Shame Battles' set before him was such a shambles

what was also great about the set was that it was my birthday, so watching aphex twin on my birthday was pretty great.

Brilliant set, very loud but i was up at the front. ears still deaf.

lots of heavy tunes and a squarepusher tune which was good. maybe it was 'ultravisitor'

unless i made that up

also good on the weekend were black eyed peas who were unbelievable and some other people wot were good. i am very tired. my videos are all distorted as hell

Unfortunately I could only record a few parts of the set. Katie, if you read this, it's Oli - thank you to you and your friends for looking after me. I went into outer space after taking the powder I found on the floor and have no recollection of what happened after the set finished. The next thing I remember is sitting alone in a cafe with a cup of tea. I know you guys helped me out though, and I really appreciate that! What an incredible night...

ok then it was tundra not ultravisitor. i just remember the pads/choir sound, which is similar.
