jazz, but doesn't hold a candle to timbaland!

this is pasted from wiki, lol. what a cunt.

On February 2, 2007, Timbaland responded to the plagiarism accusations in an interview by the radio show Elliot in the Morning. In this interview, Timbaland admits to what he calls "sampling", but he also claims that sampling is "not stealing", because "everybody samples from everybody every day". Timbaland also says that the sample is "from a video game" and mentions the Commodore 64. He also says that he has no time for research and that it is sometimes impossible to "know what's public domain and what's not". Timbaland also calls the issue "ridiculous" but mentions that he is "in legal discussions" and therefore can't say much about it. He did, however, call Janne Suni an "idiot" and a "freakin' jerk" on the show. He consistently talked about the incident as sampling, failing to address the claims with regards to the melody

I love Pon de Floor but hasn't it been worn out by now? Or was it not that mainstream? I feel like I heard it everywhere for a while there. Just surprised she decided to go with sloppy seconds instead of something fresh.

On second thought, Kanye made a ton of money rapping over a classic Daft Punk track so I guess it's not that weird.

Wow, what a fucking turd.

Also, that major lazer track is fucking annoying, and so it beyonce.

It's almost a perfect storm of aggravation.

Whats the issue? That's fucking genius. Get paid a shit ton of cash for a song you already wrote. Like aphex and virgin airlines kind of idea.

It's cheating is the issue. I believe in sampling, but this takes it a bit too far imho. Cheap, lazy, etc. It goes against my personal code as a beat maker blah blah.

How the fuck is it it cheating when the guy who wrote the song is using it in a different song? I'm not talking about timbaland here.

imo it just is  I wouldn't do it. I'm not looking to get into a heated argument about it or anything. It is just something I look down on I guess. It seems exceedingly lazy to me. I see where you're coming from, and if he just did it for a check, that's pretty lol, but again, it just isn't something I can agree with.

i get what you're saying sneak, its pretty cheesy. but i also realize what the goal of pop musics is, $$$. so i definitely get it when a producer hears a dewp instrumental track and just decides to throw some super stars voice over it.

after all, in this case what is the result? http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/dance-club-play-songs

Who also ripped it off of Edwin Birdsong. Every Daft Punk song is pretty much a ripoff.

an old friend of mine who writes rap music always used to go on about how he never "samples". it was a big issue to him, always saying, oh sampling, i'm not into that. the dude uses preset beats in fl studio to write his drum tracks
