except this is obviously not an aphex reference but probably his girl's name/nickname whom he bought the car for.

its considered pretty chavvy to get a custom plate here because its expensive and limiting and usually on ricers

Custom plates are reasonably common in North America. Maybe 10% have them, more in some states. It's also cheap, like $10-$100 depending on where you are.

yeah only import racers and dorks have them here

i had some that said AFX a while ago.. kept one, of course.
