I found out that I can get motion sick from VR after all, at least when I use smooth locomotion (very much first-world problem). Thankfully no projectiles were involved.

you can get boiled sweets/hard candy with ginger added, which really helps with any type of nausea. have a few of those around during your next VR (obv. the candy has to be real)

Got called into work this morning at the last minute even though I was scheduled off today.

And my stepdad texted me right after the call notifying me that he's tested positive for COVID-19.

When you watch a movie and the dialogue is super quiet so you turn the movie up hella, and then an action scene comes on and it's super loud and you have to fumble for the remote to turn it down.. Drives me crazy.

What is up with all these self congratulatory and narcissistic stories (with portraits lol) on LinkedIn about graduating/finding a new job or whatever. LinkedIn is the best platform to find jobs in engineering but holy fuck it's a shithole otherwise.I don't really need to be reminded of every job I've held previously and see all the corporate communications on a daily basis.

I went to see if there's anything cringey on my frontpage.. Yeah.. A manager from a previous job is telling a story how MANY of his Breitling watches died during the quarantine and also how he lost so much weight that the band was now loose in one of them. So he was glad to finally go visit a jeweller and get the issues fixed. Ends with "lol. a first world problem" and a couple of photos of one of the more expensive ones. The company he manages just laid off bunch of people both temporarily and permanently during the quarantine and is heavily in the red. Well, I'm even happier now that I quit that fucking job.

I could bitch about LinkedIn endlessly. Really feel like if I retire at some point I would go out with a bang just leaving sarcastic remarks and uncomfortable questions to all the posts I see.

Last summer there was this fucking stupid trend of people posting how much they enjoy being back from the holidays. Luckily at some point people started to call out these fuckers.I know that there are people who actually enjoy their work, but those are a pretty tiny minority.

+1000. can't stand this. especially if you're trying to watch something late at night, when other household members are sleeping. have to keep the remote easily reachable at all times. never bothered me before when I lived alone though.

if you're watching on pc you can use bsplayer which itself uses ac3 filter for sound decoding in which you can use dynamic range compression avoiding those peaks... kinda like a compressor/maximizer...

Found out the person whose shop I run 15 days a month is planning on going to some secret/illegal festival next week.
