Latest. Turns out I had stacked a bunch of shit on top of some midi controllers causing them to constantly blast midi data into Ableton. Looks like things stabilised when I stopped doing that.

Norovirus is pretty full on, but over fairly quickly.  You puke and shit yourself dry for 12-36 hours, usually at the same time.  If you haven't puked probably not noro.

When I had it the puking was the main event... Started with gradually increasing nausea and then bam. Then chills and body aches, fatigue and terrible headache (from the violent puking and resulting dehydration)... the puking part was over in about 24hr but the chills and aches took another day or so. Then massive heart inflammation but ymmv on that one... just take it easy if you can

Well in the end I was able to do this, just missing the first week of the month to fully recover from COVID before going away.

Updated sfwp is that now I'm living in another city for 2 months and I'm not actually sure why I'm here or what I'm going to do. Lol. Just impulsive midlife crisis shit. I guess the sky is the limit. Oh yeah and I may or may not be getting fired from one of my jobs. Apparently taking off for two months is frowned upon.

Yeah I went right off all that crap fairly quickly and will always choose trad black if that's an option.

I grabbed An Overview on Phenomenal Nature in 2021, so popular that there were like 5 colour options on the bandcamp at the time. I ordered plain black and was messaged by her people that they accidentally didn't update the stock levels, do I want a green one? Reluctantly agreed.

Saw Jenkins play here last year and decided I would pick up her new one, went to the merch table and once again there's like 4-5 versions of the LP in lots of different pastel colours. I asked the woman there if they just had plain black and she seemed a bit surprised but said yeah ofc. They were hidden under the merch table lol.

Someone needs to reboot the internet. Look at all this shit.

 

i'm going to cook a dinner later that requires two cartons of the veggie broth but i only have 1 in the cupboard so i'll have to go to the store to get a 2nd one. this is very annoying as it changes my entire day.. the store is less than a mile from my front door. 

there's not enough dishes in the dishwasher to run it. but all the plates and bowls are dirty. i only run it when it is full because it's a rule in my brain. line in the sand etc.

Omg I did one of those a few years ago. I actually couldn't fall asleep with all that shit attached to my body and arms. Kinda defeats the purpose of the test if you can't get into deep sleep. I had to do it twice too. They determined I'm fine but idk because I don't think I really slept either time lol. Good luck with attempt #2!

managed to round up some stray mugs to fill in the gaps. OCD crisis averted. 

RAID array i use for works in progress and some other stuff is suddenly not recognized and wants to eject or initialize. i have another chassis. will try that one but i'm not optimistic. it doesn't appear to be a failed drive but not sure. tomorrow will be fun. i'm done w/RAID arrays.  already had this one backed up on a seagate 5TB $100 drive. just fucking annoyed. never again. 

multiple USB drives for back up. is the way. fckn shit show of hardware RAID has finally revealed its stink.  the software RAID chassis i tried a couple years ago was the worst RAID i've used. the older hardware ones have been way more reliable and i'd not had any issues for a long time.

I’m probably wrong about this as it’s totally based on gut and very little knowledge and also totally 100% subjective.

Highly professionalised lives venues with their line arrays (even for < 1000 capacity rooms), acoustic treatment and the new standard of using in-ear monitors among bands that aren’t huge virtuoso ensembles are ruining the sound at a significant portion of shows. These perfect circumstances leave very little room for error or opportunity to grow. 
In-ears make a lot of bands sound as if they’re playing to each their own slightly shifted clicktrack (I’ve nothing against clicktracks but only the drummer should be hearing it). Line-arrays are unforgiving and often give a uncanny artificial feel similar to badly lit soaps shot at high fps. 
Fuck, it’s not just bands, even dawless laptop synth virtuosos seem to suffer. 
Most people need a couple of decades to grow in fuzzy mud before being able to shine in these surgical theatres. 

cross country travel. ugh. going to ft lauderdale from pdx can be a pain. all day trip. but what's got me is the flight times. leave pdx at the buttcrack and get in at 5pm. not bad.. and on the way home there's fewer choices. the best choice at the best price has a really short layover in atlanta.. 46minutes. so if there's any fuckery it'll be a pita to catch the connection... 

i know there's a ton of flights.. like every 60-90 minutes from FLL to ATL so no idea why they can't give me one w/a bit more leeway to catch the connection.. so, i do the "change this flight" after booking the one w/the 46 minute layover.. and of course there's a flight that leaves FLL an hour earlier so i get a 1 hr 45minute layover to catch the same flight in ATL to get home to PDX but that flight is +$1000 more! cunts. 

i know why they do this.. that's the most desirable flight so they up the price... so i put a call in and there's a 30 minute wait so i do the call back thing and now am waiting for a call back to see if they can put me on an earlier flight w/o the ass fucking $1000 price increase. dicks. i'm sure they'll tell me the same shit the internet tells and that they can do it but i'll have to pay out the yingyang for it. in which case the whole thing will be a waste of time and i should just keep the flight plan w/the 46 minute layover and roll the dice. they always have more time allotted to the FLL -> ATL flight than it actually is so if all goes well there won't be an issue. it's like 1hr 20 minute flight and they have it at 2 hours so... ugh. fucking douchebaggery of domestic flights and connections are annoying af. 

edit: lols.. exactly as i suspected.. all the flights are "married together" so the rep who called me back basically just did what i did to get the same result if i want to change flights.. fckn $1000 additional fare. so dumb. no thanks.  hopefully they are all on time and shit w/the flights on that day and i can make it w/a 46 minute window.. if not i'll be back here bitching about it. so, you have that to look forward to.
