I'm thinking of a perspective adjustment myself by going somewhere outside the Western world for a while, like a few months. Did you find out if it was COVID? I just tested positive. My first confirmed case, not bad considering this shit has been around for 5 years now lol. I knew it had to be something weird because I didn't have a sore throat or congestion (not a cold/flu) and didn't have nausea or any gastro symptoms (not norovirus). It started in my lungs and developed into body aches, chills and disorientation. Generally I feel "okay" though, I mean definitely sick and very exhausted, but ngl I'm pretty stoked that all those other symptoms are missing (for now lol)

the sfwp though, besides having gotten this fuckin thing in the first place, is I was about to take off for a couple months spontaneously... luckily I didn't sign off on anything yet, but still I'm bummed that it means I have to stick around here for awhile. I am so sick of this place.

I tested myself yesterday and it said I didn’t have Covid. I’ll test again tomorrow. The chills are VERY bad, and these aches and pains. I woke up at 2:30 pm today, I guess I needed it.

Yeah my test yesterday was negative but was positive today, I think false negatives are common until like midway through the illness. I want to power through this and get better already!! Funny that this happened in the midst of a health kick lol. But I spent too long out in the cold the other night so

Yeah and apparently the noro is STILL going around now, someone I know just had it a couple weeks ago. Yes violent emissions lol but the after-effects were the worst part - I ended up with severe inflammation in my heart tissue and spent 2 days in the hospital. Shit is serious - the tests revealed that my heart is otherwise super healthy so it was 100% because of the virus and could happen to anyone.

Yeah, I'd take covid over noro any day. I'd take covid over that one time I had worms. I'd take covid even over some of the influenza variants I've managed to have over the years. Now I try to get the influenza vaccine every year.

How can you tell? 

This month has sucked harder than most. 
First I’m sick for like 2 weeks meaning I’m way behind on work. Then yesterday I decided to climb a fence, my shoelaces got stuck so I fell down and smashed my knee which is now extremely swollen and I can’t walk. Last night my wife had to help me into my studio. It’s 6 meters from our house and it took around 5 minutes to get there.

The dumpsters for trash and recycle at my apartment is in the underground parking.  Went down there with aforementioned things last night around midnight.  I open the door, and am greeted by the sight and sound of the dumpster lid swinging up and down.  Then a man wearing a black cap standing in the dumpster locks eyes with me.  We have a moment of awkward acknowledgement.  I turn around and promptly walk back to my unit, trash still in hand.

This is the second time I've come down while someone is jumping around in the dumpster.  Why??  What is so worthwhile in there?  It's not a publicly accessible dumpster, so either this one is SO good that people will break in just to dive around in it, or people pay good rent here for the privilege.

Well, I didn't leave out of politeness.  It was def a self-preservation thing.  The first time I wasn't so cautious and decided to go ahead and toss it in there anyway.  The guy said something like "hey, how's it going" and we both acted like it was completely normal.  Between that time and this time I have had some random sketchy dude half-assault me, so I'm trying to react more like someone with normal levels of anxiety in such situations.
