We were gonna win the match regardless though - Villa came with no ambition.

This is what bothers me the most, there was no need for it.

I hate Harry Redknapp so much, what an overrated piece of melted wax. I like spurs as a club but Harry is getting what he deserves for evading taxes.

Mike Ashley is a hero .. what a twist.

Liverpool are ridiculous. Every home match is exactly the same. We create a shitload of chances, hit the post a couple of times, couple of saves, couple of bad misses, scramble off the line etc etc and then the other team go up the other end and score. I actually cant remember half of our home matches because they have all blended into one.

This. All of this. 'Arry for England is likely and deservedly DEAD. I hope not, personally, because I enjoy watching England suffer.

P.S. - Pardew praises Ashley (as he should).

lol.

I really really hope Newcastle will get the ChL spot instead of Spurs and Chelsea.

From relegation threatened to Champions League candidate. Quite the fairytale.

More like from Championship Club to Champions League candidate. Sacking Chris Hugton, selling the "superstars" and appointing Pardew was a huge risk but it paid off.. Mike Ashley .. genius or extremely fortunate?.

Liverpool had 30 shots (like 15 on target) i guess it doesn't matter now (they already qualified for Europe) but if they continue like this they'll slowly turn into Stoke.

sounds like a really obvious thing to say but we just need a couple of better players playing the exact same kind of football we are playing now. Whether we buy the right players in the summer remains to be seen....

I really cant fault the style of play though. Even one more clinical attacking player could make a huge difference just due to the number of chances we make.

Savage and Shearer both made good point on MOTD2. You can't go from a midfield of Xavi Alonso/Mascherano to Spearing/Adam and expect the same quality. Second point - as you mentioned - your finishing needs to be more clinical. Suarez is your top scorer with what - 8,9 goals?

Also, why was our defense so shit today. When Fergie watches the tape of the 4th everton goal, Rafael is gonna learn what the hairdryer is all about.

Rafael had a shocker, Evra was poor too. I much preferred United with either Jones or Smalling at RB. Adds balance and allowed Evra to push forward without United exposed on both wings. Nani actually played quite well for once, but I feel he weakens the team defensively. Everton were excellent, Jelovic is a really good signing.

No one's talking about Arsenal anymore. :P

jhonny - smalling is a CB. Jones is a....well he played CB at Blackburn. He's played all over for us - I still think he's a midfielder, but he's raw at 20. Anyways, both of them are wasted at RB.

No-one's talking about Arsenal's defensive frailties anymore.

Everyone has accepted that fact that Arsenal will forever be an unambitious group of barcelona rejects happy to qualify for the CL every year (only to be knocked out by either Barca or AC Milan) and never challenge for a trophy.

I agree that Smalling is a CB but he's also a better RB at defending than Rafael. Smalling was bossing it earlier in the season and would have dealt with Fellaini who did a great job at trying to find mismatches in the air against Rafael and Evra.

Jones I'm not sure about in midfield, I don't think his first touch is good enough. A really weird player actually, I hope he finds a position rather than being a (much better) John O'Shea.

Didn't Jones played as a winger in a few of the Champions League games?

I dunno, but I googled Phil Jones Left Wing and this interesting article came up

Echoes what I said about John O'Shea, and interesting comments about Yaya Toure and Sergio Ramos.

Fully agree - I've said before he could be like Toure (the good one). His touch will get better - he needs to spend a summer in Brazil, not diddling ladyboys but playing some street football, where you have no choice but to improve your touch. Or spend some time with the Berb - his first touch is immaculate.

But his runs, his physical presence, all that good stuff - that will make him an excellent DM. Like Carrick except not quite so poncey. Probably never as good as Scholesy in terms of vision (but few are/will be) but he can pick a pass from time to time.

Just found out the Villa-Bolton score, Mcleaish is the worst manager ever .. he could relegate Villa, i hope he does fucking dull manager.

Is someone watching the Premier League? 17 goals in the first half, i guess nobody cares about defending anymore.

Wigan 4 up against Newcastle, great result for them.

Don't forget they beat Liverpool too, in hindsight its wasn't a huge upset but at the time i was shocked. Roberto Martinez need to move on, he's taken Wigan as far as they'll go.

They won the premier league!! (With Kenny Dalglish as manager, lol).

I think they are doomed, QPR and Bolton would have to loose every game for Blackburn to survive.

Its gonna be Blackburn and Bolton in my opinion, Owen Coyle is a nice guy and all but you don't win games by being a nice guy, their team has been shit all season.
