This my favourite juke track I've heard. Mainly because it has a bit of a reasonable hook.

Better than dj nate. Still total crap. The only decent thing is that sample that most likely wasn't made by murderbrot or spinn.

What the fuck is juke?

Hard to explain. Best do a search. Its basically like a sort of fast electro with lots of 808 sounds especially the rims, tom toms and claves. Oh yeah Planet Mu have released a lot of it. I can't say I'm that big a fan but I've heard the odd tune that's grabbed me.

Sounds fucking lame. Wonder how long it's going to be before people abandon the analog x0x obsession. Don't get me wrong, the 505, 707 and 909 are pretty great but 303, 606, 808 have been done to DEATH augh

change the record man, people always banging on about things being done to death, especially if it's got an 808 in it or whatever...juke is basically a kind of new(ish) ghetto sound out of chicago with all the attributes mentioned by promo. it's simple, often low-fi, and badly made. but that's what makes it good y'know? there's a lot of shit juke stuff, but some of it is pretty good! sneaksta's also a fan I believe...

Yeah it's some pretty fun music. DJ Rashad is probably my fave.

because it doesn't sound like what they think is "good"...if you just listen to it without any preconceptions though, you can usually find some aspects that appeal to your aesthetic and work from there...

I don't know why this forum is so hell bent on trying to salvage juke from the junkyard of music.

You were just bitching about the quality of YLC, and this same argument could be made for every single track posted there.

With that logic, every song ever made is awesome once you come at it with a clear mind.

Balderdash.

All I do is make the deepest dubstep, footwerk and drag.

Footwork? Maybe, maybe not. It has a lot of the characteristics but done at a much higher level.

Is it just me who finds all these vocal samples in every track totally annoying. Is it some kind of effort to have mainstream appeal and get on MTV? The only one who can get away with it, and only sometimes, is Burial. Everyone else should just make drum tracks.

here's my contribution to thread. Has received no comments on YLC:

edit: I am a hypocrite. This track has a vocal sample. But it is more like a Herbert vocal sample than a Burial vocal sample.

I like UK garage. Or whatever the new derivative is.

I think they decided to call it futuregarage. Which is almost as gay as IDM. Soul Jazz was an ok name.

I'm digging future garage. I love the swing and shuffle in garage. I know Whistla who I guess you could say has been pretty key to the future garage sound plus he's sound as a pound. He's played at my night about 3 times I think. Anyways yeah man I got love for 2-step defo. Peeps need to get some 2-step vibes on YLC. I may post some soon too. ;-)

Here's a house track I made: http://soundcloud.com/splitradix/monday-demo-1

This is a nice track but like one of the furthest things i've heard from house. just because a tune has 4 on the floor doesn't make it house.

wat, Mount Kimbie are like pioneers of so called post-dubstep. I don't really give a shit about untold.

They are apparently futuregarage.

And untold are amazing you dumbass.
