When you wake up in the middle of the night to piss, and you piss, except then you have to spit, so you spit, but the spit is kind of a long strand, so it doesn't fully disconnect from your lips by the time it hits the pee.... and you know it's not really true but for some reason you feel like you got pee on your lips because of some transitive pee-spit liquid transfer that defies physics....

when you sit down to take a shit after a chipotle burrito bowl and expel liquid waste into a pristine toilet and psyche yourself up to start the arduous process of wiping and wipe and realize you managed a clean break. there is a melancholy grandeur to it, as if without the stain on the toilet paper the act of excreting never took place. from one void to another. to quote ken watanabe at the end of the last samurai: "perfect".
