that's not the point. the point is that instant messengers require you to have people on a contacts list, which involves first finding out the other person's address. plus other hassles.

with chattm, the only hassle was to look up the top and see if there was anyone in there or not.

even if you don't use chatmm, it increases activity and creates either memorable or boring experiences (judging from this thread), I don't really understand why anyone other than the mods and admin would be for closing it (and I don't even understand their perspective yet, still awaiting their response).

its a feature that some on this community enjoy so much they are willing to pay for it. wouldn't you want to support this if your goal is to stimulate growth in the community?

I was in there during periods of use at least once a week, often more. I listened to other people's music and gave them feedback. I shared my own music.

It was a fantastic element of the community at the level it was being used.

If the real reason against it is illegal links, then so be it. But I dislike how these clearly false reasons are thrown around. It was being used.

actually i don't see how illegal links are a problem when chatmm is closed from public's eye. if watmm's being a platform for illegal sharing hurts joyrex's conscience he might as well monitor and/or shutdown private messaging.

it's a community that likes nice tits and illegal links, face it already.

we've definitely had 25 people in there. i think that was the limit. anymore, and the license would need to be increased.

CHATMM tends to be the most fun with about 6-10 people anyway.

funny you mention that! i decided to try Windows Live again last night.... and never before have i seen such a trainwreck of an application. it wants to be a web browser that tells me the latest celebrity news, not an IM client. as such, i feel it is not a suitable replacement for CHATMM.

AIM is much better.

Skype dominates aim and msn. can we have chatmm back now please?

also sirch youre wrong about almost everything you said, and ppl showed you that earlier but u didnt listen. msn and skype are completely different experiences , and lik any chat room some times the place had up and down periods. ive been in there with 5 people and with 10 and 15 ppl and i think those numbers are good enough. i dont get ur point about -5 being not enough ppl in chatmm. its different ppl always and some times its better to have less people.

anyways this arguemnt is stupid sirch is just playing devils advocate
