no holds on games i'm afraid. if you're going to a party and can't play 1 word a day (or even pass 2 turns) then its a forfeit.

going over 24 hours per move must be called by the opponent. so if you're saying kaini took 36 hours then call it and i'll update the bracket.

Not trying to be harsh but I think 24 hours is a fair time limit for 1 move. I can see how not having a smartphone would make this hard sometimes though.

personally my game with uptown is not going well. he is unrelenting in 40+ words every turn. my usual play style and gameplan went to shit (not sure if thats because he plays a certain way or i just didnt get the letters. what can you really do with 'aeeooox'?). game is pretty much over i think. 100 down and a few tiles left.

Ok then I'm in.

Finally. Should I wait for an updated bracket or should I just start the game with you?

He resigned before playing any moves and then started another game with me though. What should I do?

I don't know if he resigned to switch out his letters. He could have just swapped for his first turn. Hardly a match.

I guess I'll just play the next one with Essines.

Ok. I excepted his follow-up game request. I still feel a bit confused as to why he resigned and then started a new game.

If anyone has any objections to the validity of the current match, I'd be happy to accept another forfeit.

I'm skeptical now.

Resigning and then starting a new one seems suspect to me. Maybe you should start a new one yourself and call that one the official one.

In other news, I started my match with Uptown Devil. I got an early lead, but who knows what will happen.

I can only imagine that Essines resigned in error because he thought that user wasn't you, or that his game was showing that he had started another.

Although saying that, the resign button is quite large whilst in play and I tend to auto-confirm things very quickly on my phone. I've never accidentally resigned a game, but the notion has popped into my head a couple of times when I'm pressing shuffle or submitting words.

I have an 100 point lead, the big letters are out, and I have lots of moves left in me.

It's about time to say goodbye to uptown devil.

I resigned before i knew that we were gonna match for real... ie i started the game them decided i better make sure it was legit!

If you'd like to start again, go for it. I honestly just decided to stop the game before anything was played as i was unsure as to whether or not you and i would actually be playing!!

Here's my match with uptown. I won.

It was a really weird match. Not a single 7 letter word. We both felt like we had too many vowels all the way through the game. I wound up with a higher score than usual, and I'm not exactly sure why. I guess I just have consistant opportunities.

And oddly enough, I think I got the q, the z, and the x in all three of my matches so far, but I switched them out with my letters in one.

Anyway, I also forget that the chat thing closes after the game is over, so I never get a chance to say good game. So good game uptown! I'll be happy for a rematch.

well not much of a good game, but I might take you up on a rematch the next time I feel like having my soul crushed.
