How would everyone like the next album to sound? (If it is released)

Recommended Posts

I am thinking that Aphex not releasing anything in a while has to do with his long term plan of making WATMM irrelevant until Joyrex pulls the plug and shuts it down. After that he will finally release again, until Joyrex calls it "quite good" again.

Collected Ambient Works Vol. 3 would be great too.

how do you improve on volume 2 though?

a variety of favorite sounds (innovative analog, crazy programmed, weird percussion, lush ambiance, something funky) as well as some ridiculous unexpected (something to the extent of HAT playing steel drums at 500 mph and/or richards interpretation of riding a solar flare).

i also would like to hear the some full sound spectrum pendulum music as concert recordings on youtube suck in that sense but i'm already expecting those to never see the surface of physical media available to the public.

at the end of the day i just wanna hear something that sounds like dopeness from some dynamic club scene 15 years in the future with so much creative expression that most don't have the capacity to grasp how sublime it is.

i enjoy daydreaming about it but i wouldn't be surprised if he never formally releases new material.

if he does tho thatz awesome and i'll probably be one of the first 500 to do a backflip about it.

probably impossible. if there is a guy out there capable to do this, it must be rdj :spiteful:

but if you compare number 1 with number 2, number 3 could be like everything (but in some ambient, hypnotic way)

I'd like it to sound more serious than previous RDJ releases.

Is this what serious sounds like ?

lol but no, serious like not wanting to sound cool all the time. I love RDJ's music but almost all of it sounds a bit hip, you know?

www.petergaber.com is where I keep my paintings. I used to have a kinky tumblr, but it exploded.

Would you be happy for a bit bicep instead. I hear he's more bicep that than hip.

a four-hour quadruple album of noise, containing the spectral imagery of the notes to the actual album he's not releasing.

Problem is he's set himself up for a major fall if it doesn't meet up to expectations cos he's left it so long since the last album. Then Joyrex will say it's "quite good" when it does get released then AFX will make us wait another decade for the next album.

I don't think about it anymore. I don't mean that in a negative way, I trust in Aphex.

new unheard music that is so refreshing everyone stops making music for a year.

I don't see why it matters. If you've listened to enough music in your life, it's very unlikely that your mind will be blown by yet another electronic music release. So there shouldn't be any pressure on the guy, he should just put out what he's proud of, stuff that he likes, music that he's made that makes him feel warm inside.

Well, the longer he leaves it, the higher the expectations will be. You can imagine the "it took him 10 years to make this" scenario. Like you say, there shouldn't be any pressure, but there will be especially from the press.

With songs like the Manchester track, how can it possibly fail?

To be honest, I got bored of listening to it, even that sounds a bit dated now. It was 2008 after all.
