Guest kwikshot
It's much better recently, the UI is good in v4, very good. I haven't tried it much though, I feel it doesn't fit with my workflow, I'm very attuned to Ableton Live... I suppose what you're attuned to in Ableton Live is precisely the fact it's designed for a live use or at least thought as a tool which allows to make music in an intuitive way, where you don't have to bother about the workflow too much. But I don't know, at the moment I'm thinking about beginning to transpose my tracks in a live setup and maybe I'm just gonna keep my regular one. Reaper rewiring Renoise + electribe + BCF2000 + a keyboard. I need to adapt all my songs and obtain a clear workflow but I'm sure I can somewhat manage to have a good and fluid one that way. EDIT : welcome by the way I think it's mainly because of how it feels more like a traditional studio environment (like logic) and Ableton is nothing like this. Also I use Live's built-in stuff a lot and it's weird to be without that kinda stuff! I was just full of love when I realised that the mousewheel just ZOOMED IN THE FUCKIN' TIMELINE when I used for the first time because I've always thought that's the way that button MUST behave in any DAW. You know, like constantly zooming in and out in Supreme Commander At 1:00 Edited October 5, 2011 by Antape Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Lucas's signature Hide all signatures antape @ soundcloud Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/68942-reaper-users-tell-me-whats-great-about-it/page/2/#findComment-1667422 Share on other sites
Guest MrSparkle666
I tried it over a year or two ago (not sure what version) and it was still a bit quirky to me. I couldn't really get into it. But a few days ago I downloaded the latest version and I REALLY like it now. They seem to have tightened up the features a lot. I think I'm going to fully switch over to it. I love Ableton Live, but I get stuck too much just making a bunch of loops and never editing them into a full song. I'm just not disciplined enough for its style of workflow. Traditional DAWs tend to force me to get out of loop mode, which is good. I was looking for a good alternative to Cubase, since I've hated that bloated piece of shit ever since I started working in Live. Lucas
I actually wonder if the first time I had this problem wasn't on Nuendo. And I'm sure I already see that on Renoise as well. foresense
I remember there's bunch of options in Reaper that deal with how you save the VST parameters in a project file. there's a safe mode that basically saves everything including all banks and just about everything, and some other save modes... maybe you flipped a switch somewhere or a default changed.... try digging around in the options menu. Its not unheard of for the dev's to get involved personally in such vst problems and get in touch with the other developers themselves if there is something funny going on.
