Good post Kakapo, I'm about to decorate my new office/spare room. Been waiting to spot a good chair and then go from there in terms of desk and colour scheme.

I like the cement base, but I don't think that's the standard. There are nice legged versions as well.

Also, on a more affordable note, Ikea has a nice aluminum chair now. I think it was added to their repertoire last year. I actually own one and am quite happy with it and I am, in general, not a huge fan of Ikea.
