Just got my copy (from Bleep)... FINALLY!!!!

So sweet.

The vinyl and jacket were perfectly clean.

Very slightly warped vinyl, but definitely nothing serious.

(I now know that this has been mentioned) The groove between the 2nd and 3rd track on side A is a run-out groove. Pretty hilarious.

Great release. I'm convinced that it's RDJ.

Even the 8:59 track that sounds exactly like squarepusher?

Newsflash. Squarepusher isn't the first and won't be the last to use the Amen Break.

no really?

Wow I'm so surprised. Where did you find this information out?!

That doesn't mean each of these artists don't have their distinct style. I guess since other artists use the amen break they all sound like each other right?

Your statement makes absolutely no sense.

Hey guys! All electronic artists sound like each other because they use the amen break!

Maybe they're all rdj huh?

Even tiesto.

Why exactly do you say you're convinced it's rdj?

Newsflash. Aphex twin isn't the first and won't be the last to use synthesizers and drum machines you know.

Well no, I'd much rather sit back in my expensive furniture at home and laugh about how you can't tell the difference between tiesto and aphex twin or squarepusher because they all use the amen break sometimes.

they are skrillex. Didn't you hear? Jefferoo the leading authority on all things music says all music is by the same artist, you can't tell one from another.

:cerious: These tracks are not squarepusher, if it is, it's just recycled old ideas that other people have recreated and continue to do so. If you think its SP, you might need to sell your fancy furniture and buy some new ears. Its good music, but nothing otherworldly IMO

and for the record, I like canada.

wait till we find out its just old JK tunes :w00t:

Personally, I actually believe it's a collective: rdj/sp etc and these aren't old recycled ideas but probably ones that didn't make the cut for albums or eps etc circa 2000-2003.

Sounds like a Squarepusher - Andre 3000 collaboration, if you listen carefully during Maelstrom you can hear a distant "heeey yaaaaa"

Edited by YO303

That being said my ears work just fine... not sure why you said that exactly =/. I've also run this through a couple progs to see how it measures up dynamically with previous works but of course I came up with nothing conclusive.

LOL

Didn't andre3000 ask squarepusher years ago to do a collab?!?!

Well, I'm guessing that's why you're saying that. Imagine toms thoughts about that lol... probably wanted to say fuck no I want no part in your garbage but he's too polite.

not, but anyway. why not include more previously unknown tracks instead of putting the ones on everybody already knows since a long time? But anyway, it's Rephlex, I get it and will shut my mouth from now on.

Oh I'm sure they have over 9000 steinvord tracks, he's shitting them out like the tons of 2 step and dubstep garbage.

this theory makes sense if you believe it genuinely is either person since the music sounds quite old and even if you compare it to the tracks on Drukqs or Go Plastic you will find they sound like outtakes from either one of those albums at best. They don't hold up to the album itself, which would make sense why they were left unreleased for so long (if they are indeed made by either one )

Those unreleased tape tracks from Aphex sounded totally lame and uncharacteristic, so from that perspective anythings possible.
