Those Steinvord tracks are the best thing i've ever heard. Definitely better than your dubstep stuff you are famous for. Too bad your 15 year old girl fanbase will possible never be able to appreciate the subtlety of fast complex and dynamics of such material.

Hey guys, as an Aphex Twin fan that respects Skrillex music, im trying to take some time to clarify what happened last night:

Someone claimed a couple of days ago (probably on a forum like WATMM, XLT or Braindance.net) that he had some inside information about a side-project by Sonny going by Steinvord. It would be a release under Aphex Twin record label (Rephlex). Because Sonny is signed to labels that publish through big platforms like Warner Music Group it was out of the question releasing under "Skrillex", specially music of such a non-mainstream nature compared to his regular dubstep stuff.

Another reason of not using Skrillex for this release, is because Sonny realized his regular fans would simply not get their heads throught this music after posting his favourite track of all time, an Aphex Twin track, and reading the Facebook comments:

Skrillex was made fun of all over the internet thanks to some of his fans expecting a drop on there, so he realized releasing that music under Skrillex would be a commercial suicide at the moment.

 

Other clues include Aphex Twin playing Koan Sound (a friend of Skrillex) in one of his sets:

 

 

Apparently he hanged around UK sometime were he meet Benga, Skream and RDJ at some backstage of a gig, this is were the deal happened.

 

Skrillex was around 18-19 back in 2008 when the myspace profile was created, he was also into more breakbeat based music at the time instead of dubstep as seen here:

It has been said Skrillex has spanish heritage, plus he and deadmau5 love Ibiza, Pacha and other historic rave places located in Spain. Selecting Spain could be a sort of an homage at the same time not making it too obvious by choosing LA (he wanted to create an alternative persona after all).

 

The guy with the info also predicted something related to Skrillex making a subtle post about a change in sound just to test the waters and see how people would react. 2 or 3 days later, Skrillex HIMSELF makes this post on his own website:

There are probably more things im missing out, you may be able to find it around those forums. But just because yesterday the board you point at obtained all this information and decided to mass-spread it around the internet doesn't simply invalidate all the interesting clues out there.

 

Ultimately, it's all about the music really. So let's try to forget about all the drama and enjoy the music shall we? Both Steinvord and Skrillex are insanely talented regardless they are the same person or not.

A reliable source just told me that Steinvord's material is sourced from Grant Wilson-Claridge/Marcus Eoin collaborations from 1984.

Well if that link was of the youtube video by that guy who had all those Steinvord tracks on there (the ones with the orange background and white text) then the Hotflush Recordings Ltd & Styrax Records mention is probably due to all the other 100s (1000s ?) of other music tracks he had on there, some of which were under those labels.
