Okay, so I guess we're not buying direct from Skam...

  Quote
The Skam shop is broken, the good old system has said "no more"

and we can no longer update the site... So a new shop is coming very soon

New releases should be available in alternative stores over the coming week

both the 1st pressing and the repress suffered from pressing issues at the hands of MPO

First pressing: both records had rather substantial surface noise and pressing errors

second pressing: sides C & D had been repressed, sides A & B were pressed from the same platter as first pressing.

As a consequence of the problems with this release, Skam no longer uses MPO.

Just giving this a first spin, pressing sounds pretty good to me (once you get used to hearing tape hiss on vinyl anyway).

Great photo on the back too - can you still buy vimto? Gave me a craving.

You most definitely can still buy vimto

Might have to track some down - haven't drank any for about 20 years, probably tastes far more disgusting than i remember.

Great photo though, looks like they've set their studio up on the bedroom floor.

Good ol' Skam pressing house !

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

but that might partly been down to my shitty turntable and shitty carts/needle, etc.

also, like somebody else said, it's mastered off of/taken from a 20+ year old cassette tape source, innit?

so it was never gonna be that great anyway.

but i still like it. i like it a lot :)

Alright I don't have the CD so I can't compare, isn't that photo tiny? I don't know how anyone could even make out that bottle of Femto - granted, I've never had Femto before and had to google it. Anyway, I'm looking forward to finally hearing side C & D when I give this a spin this weekend...

this is bullshit. what's the point of doing a reissue if you press so few copies that they sell out in 48 hours reverting everything to its previous state. next time don't press cds and just use the money to press more lps. kthxbai

the picture is plenty big enough to make out that is an 'old-school' bottle of Vimto, and anyone 25 years or older (and from the UK) should be able to recognise the bottle from their childhood.

Yeah, I knew it would fucking happen which is why I just put it on my credit card.

Kind of a bummer that it's sold out because I would really like one more copy to keep in case the one I have wears out. But, oh well, everything falls apart.

Ah, that's why. I kind of thought so but wasn't sure.

Ahh yeah, Vimto is definitely a 'British institution', much like Ribena, Irn Bru, and Tizer

Okay, I know SkamShop is off…… but is there no chance to get one of these copies from Skam directly? I think 1000 have been pressed so there will be a amount remaining at the label……

Considering that the Skam Shop is well and truly fucked at the moment, I doubt that Skam will be holding many copies back to sell on the new Skam shop (if a new one is incoming). I would guess that Skam had given all the stock they had for themselves off to other local and indie record shops. I'm pretty sure that Norman Records got a second batch of stock, which also went quickly.
