so i've been checking out Homeland because of all the hype it still continues to get, and i'm sort of blown away by how bad it is. It's actually sort of depressing that 11 years after 9/11 this type of over wrought war on terror shit still entertains people.

it's actually subtler that just "war on terror shit". It's not about terrorists, it's about paranoia and how America deals with a post 9-11 trauma.

Season 2 of the X-Files. As a kid I never noticed it, but Mulder is always incredibly bored, like he just wants to go to bed, look all emotionally distant and slowly spoon ice cream into his mouth. I don't get it. He's usually in immediate danger and kind of just mopes from place to place solving shit nonchalantly, again as if he's really just thinking about ice cream. It's no wonder nobody believes him.

watching season 2 as well...forget exactly what episode I was watching but it started off with him viewing porn (sound only obviously) with a completely unfazed look on his face

what the Hell is happening on Fringe? The timeline on that show has been twisted and erased so much no one knows what has happened and what didn't happen. Tryin to cram too much into the final 13 episodes.

2 weeks til Walking Dead!

dexter and homeland new seasons both started out rather badly.

dexter felt kinda stupid. when he just wanders about the airport and finds an empty room to kill the dude in. also airports and gas stations have cameras everywhere!

deb finding out should have been interesting but i guess they need to let her work it out for an episode or two. in the books she finds out quite early on and i think the tv show left it too long. also no guest star this season?

homeland was just boring. i liked last season for the is he/isn't he? stuff but now we know, seeing brody still kinda undecided and sweaty is old now.

sons of anarchy is the only show to come back strong.

I don't really watch tv, so you may laugh at what seems complete stupidity or ignorance but a good friend of mine recommended I get the dvd boxset of Deadwood (I have never heard of this). So I ordered this today. Sounds like my cup of tea.

I watched the first season of Walking Dead a few months back (never heard of this either until my mate told me about it) I don't have Sky so these things pass me by.

all it seems to do is perpetuate that trauma by validating the war on terror as a premise that isn't ridiculous and used as a cloak for the us to wage infinite warfare against anyone it wishes. Maybe i watched the wrong episodes but each time i see it sort of seems like 24 for educated liberals who buy into the idea that the war on terrorism is not fictional.

Episode 1 of the new thick of it . Seemed like just a bunch of weakly scripted insults thrown about like everyone was a crap Malcolm Tucker. The only half decent character was Peter Mannion. And where was Malcolm? Piss weak by its usual standards. Can only improve. I am disappoint.

mannions character is great

i think with this series its flitting between parties so episode two is tuckers turn.

in episode 4 they jump off a train in brighouse which is where i'm from. i recognised the train platform as soon as i saw the fenceposts haha it's just a one horse town in west yorkshire so found it abit bizzare

how i mett your mother s08 - awfull

Yes Sons of Anarchy is amazing

Since watching, I've bought a Harley Davidson, grew my beard out, got tattoos, punched some Hispanics in the face and trashed a cigar shop.

Sons of Anarchy would be a lot better without the cheeseball emotional montages with "touching" vocal music at the end of every "important" episode.

i dont generally keep up with shit, only just started ambling round the second hand dvd shops buying up random stuff. tbh the character references dont seem to have much bearing anyway, its just stupid voice, childish, hilarious shit. top notch.
