Took a sick day and finally watched The Terror. Ended far better than the book. Good shit.

Fully agree. I liked the story in the novel but hated the writing.

The tv series was better in every way.

speaking of, the new episode of the terror is really bad. it has nothing to do with the first one thematically, completely different thing, but it also has nothing to do with the first season's quality. really bad writing, acting, no atmosphere whatsoever nor terrific soundtrack, facsimile shallow dialogue. just really generic and unambitious drama/horror tv show with somewhat interesting setting (japs in us in ww2). dunno why they even bothered to shove it under the terror umbrella.

AFAIK it's an all-new production team too. Which screams AMC cash grab to me.

Preacher series 4.

Its not completely bad, but its no way perfect. Pacing is all weird. Series 1 was great but now I just have to see it through since it's nearly finished.

Have you read the graphic novels? I lost interest in the series after maybe 6 episodes but it breaks my heart a bit that I will never see the ‘War in the Sun’ comic done right. Maybe it’s too epic to be filmed.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

Yeah I used to read the comics, can't remember how far I got though as it was a while back.

They've not really done Assface proud although his origin episode was pretty hard hitting and well done.

Yeah. Just finished this last night. It was OK, not sure I'd sit through another season though.

Preacher seems to be one of those shows that is great is you are an idiot and know nothing of the original content (i.e. me), and fucking terrible if you do.

It’s just frustrating but early in the series when Tulip fucks Cassidy I realised it was basically a completely different story, so why even call it Preacher? A bit like Akira perhaps it’ll never work with actors anyway.

Yeah one of my mate's biggest gripes was how Cassidy was portrayed cause I think he's a massive joker but I get the impression that's not the case in the graphic novel *small sick in mouth at calling them that*

I haven't checked it out yet, but while I thought season 3 was really good, the ending of that season has me worried about season 4. It seems like a less interesting setup than his relationship with his grandma and all that.

A few episodes into The Boys and it's pretty great

Gotta say that Homelander dude seriously nails the villain-you-love-to-hate thing.

Binged all of Mindhunters S02 over the last couple of days. I was quite captivated by the Atlanta Child Murders storyline and have to say they got some brilliant performances out of their serial killer subjects (my fav part). Not as brilliant as S01 but still held up p. well in my book.

i tried watching mindhunters season 1 but was too familiar with the BTK killer story to find it interesting. also, i didn't get the point of them going after the guy who killed his brother (with the wife) or whatever- ed kemper and the guy with the shoe fetish storylines. i thought someone those would tie together with the BTK pieces but no.

atlanta child killer was basically an egotistical liar who hated black kids and police incompetence. not really sure what there is to "get into about that". he mainly got away with a lot of killings because everyone thought it was a white guy doing the murders and could have been linked to the KKK

So glad Snowfall is back, GLOW season 3 just seems boring, hoping the Dark Crystal series is as good as it looks.

Positive Metal Attitude

Mindhunter season 2 like everyone else.

Though I did binge X-Men: The Animated Series before that to get the taste of Dark Phoenix out of my mouth.

watched the episode 'harriets happenings': basically mrs olsen starts a gossip column in the local paper that reports on rumors that begin to affects the residents of walnut groove. she's asked to stop making up news but basically responds "but people buy it. besides, it was fact that people were making up those rumors

haven't watched his stand up since he did a show in dc around the time of chappelle show. thought this one was pretty good

Agree about not being as good as season 1. I thought one of the best things about season 1 were the scenes with Kemper. Great acting and great tension when he showed up. I also knew practically nothing about any of these serial killers, so it's been interesting learning about some of the real life events.

I just watched this. I enjoyed it though not as much as some of his last few Netflix specials which I thought were just funnier. I like chill Dave more than aggro Dave, the humour hits better.

the impression he did of Louis CK's shame after cumming on his own stomach had me in fucking stitches.
