Ozark is great. The money laundering schemes are basic but on point. The wife is ridiculous, but Jason Bateman’s character is good.

I find it very watchable. Always a temptation to let the next episode play with this one.

Just finishing "You" (Netflix) season 1 -- ok-maybe not the best show but it's moorish.

Yes, it's really strong. Just did ep5 of the first season and its going some really interesting places.

Sound track is by Ben Frost and it is superb

Now I'll watch it just for the soundtrack - love Ben Frost.

Tales from the Loop. Based on the artwork of Simon Stalenhag (which is an odd qualifier, but think at least some folks here are a fan). About halfway through. It's spectacular. More of a study in humanity than sci-fi - somehow captures the sense of melancholic otherworldly nostalgia of the paintings.

I wouldn't say it's the WORST, cause it's definitely not, just wait for the 2nd season, there's way worse things to complain about... The reason the soundtrack sounds mostly lame is because it's linked to those embarrassing montages in the end of each episode...

anyway, this song is pretty lush:

shit this looks amazing, thanks for the tip!

first episode was good, 2nd wasn't great, and mirrored a niggling problem I had with the 1st episode, and I'm expecting more of this from the rest of them... which is, characters not doing very basic things like talking to other characters to figure out what's going on, help them out, etc. I get that's it's doing this to try and create an enigmatic air to the whole thing, it's still annoying though. it's the kind of thing most tv/movie sci fi always gets wrong in comparison to the written stuff.

yay! Yeah, @Tim_J too I think y'all will like it, particularly if you are into Stalenhag's stuff. It really does capture the vibe of it.

@caze yeah, if you didn't like those aspects in the first two episodes.. . well, let's just say as far as I've watched, a recurrent theme seems to be what is not said, that likely should have been, and the regret and missed opportunities that arise because of that. I mean, it's still a very beautiful show, but the wonderment is always undercut by some level of heartache (but, ya know, that sorta appeals to my weltschmertz sensibilities so there ya go)

Catching up on the old Star Trek series over here. Something very comforting about watching something so old school.. the world seems a little less crazy.

anyone here seen The Mandalorian? any good? Don't want to waste the free sign up trial to Disney+ unnecessarily...

It's really good. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Unlike the elixir of hop, wheat, and barley I'm not a connoisseur of tea. Any old teabag will do, if it's with 2 chocolate hobnobs then it will taste okay!

Altered Carbon s02 - surprisingly worse than the first season, if that's even possible... all the cool lore from s01 is gonne so this is basically left with embarrassing monologues, action scenes and character drama...

TigerKing - total madness

I liked the first season well enough, two episodes into the second and I'm out. It's nonsense.

I haven't visited this thread since December, apparently. Since then, I've re-watched the entirety of The Sopranos, caught up on the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, started re-watching Seinfeld and King of the Hill from the start (I had only ever watched a small amount of KotH back in the day), started the High Fidelity series but have been going through it slowly because we're a bit meh on it, binged Tiger King like everyone else, and got my girlfriend to watch Ozark seasons 1-2 so we could watch 3 together (and we're just a few eps in so far). Oh and last night we watched the first episode of the new season of Insecure.

On my own, I started watching Reprisal on a trip to and from Belgium in January. Been going through that a bit slowly because I'm watching it alone and just don't have the opportunity to watch TV on my own very often. I also finished season one of Castle Rock on the same trip, but haven't jumped on season 2 yet for the above reason. I also would love to catch up on Better Call Saul and Mr. Robot but again, there's no time. Maybe my girlfriend will take a vacation without me at some point.

Thanks for reading.

I'd highly recommend finishing Mr. Robot and catching up on Better Call Saul. The last couple BCS episodes were insane.

Ditto, up there with the original Trilogy for me. Also Disney+ has some archive oddities worth watching - Black Hole for example

im honestly shocked people are still figuring out that westworld is retarded

After my son went to play outside and daughter went for nap yesterday my wife left on Sheriff Callie's Wild West - an animated kid's show with Mandy Moore voicing the titular character. I asked if she wanted to turn it off and she shrugged and said "nah, I kind of like it. It's like what Westworld could have been."

Holy fuck, this looks right up my alley both in aesthetics and scope. Thanks for recommending this!
