Another show that apparently takes two seasons to get good is Disenchantment. First season was fairly predictable fantasy Futurama, second season oafishly clawed around for an identity of its own and the third season seems to have found it. Couple of episodes in and it’s actually interesting.

And gorgeous to look at.

New season of The Expanse. The villain is not great.

Where are they upto with the series? I watched the first season, loved it, and immediately moved to the books. I havent watched any of the program since.

almost a definitive documentary about the night stalker but they somehow failed to include a few details that would've really made this next level (eg. his childhood antics, vietnam vet uncle, staying @ the cecil, his party pals) yet somehow they still managed to show too much for some

definitely good, but not as bang all as LA times claimed might would be

This was a massive disappointment. First 3 episodes are pretty slow and boring. Like you said there are much more interesting things they should of included. Instead we get the life history of a cop and how unhappy his wife was.

Making my way thru season 1 of A.P. Bio, Glenn Howerton and Patton Oswalt pretty funny so far.

The season hew pretty close to the books, and overall the series is excellent with excellent character development.

I am watching All Creatures Great and Small (2020) as I was a fan of the books and the original BBC series that aired back in '78 (yeah, I'm old)

This has bleeped a few times on my radar lately. Think I'm gonna give this a go.

it's good and i like it a lot and have watched it a few times over the years. keep in mind that the writer's strike happened write in the middle of the series. so if you think "this is going off the rails" at some point that might be why.. but overall it's good and lot's of good storytelling and good moments.

edit: currently watching Hamilton's Pharmacopeia. I've known about it long time but never checked it out. really enjoying it.

We've got 6 episodes left of The Sopranos and it has been such a fucking blast to rewatch this show. It is without a doubt my favorite show of all time.

I fucking love Tony. He's a fucking idiot on so many levels, and every time you think he's on the right path he does something completley idiotic and amoral, and no matter what I still love him. He's the best anti-hero. A boy in a grown man's body.

I did my rewatch in January last year and it was so much better than I remembered and I loved it when it came out. I was 18-26 when it came out and there were so many elements I appreciate better at the age I'm at now.

What has been even more enjoyable is that the panopticon saw me do my rewatch and fed me YouTube videos/Reddit threads where everyone is keeping the meme aspects of the show alive. Seeing "he never had the makings of a varsity athlete" or "oooh Madonn" with thousands of likes just makes it that much more fun. Somebody said "Tony's breathing should have been given credit as an additional character from season 3 forward". It was sad/hilarious/artistic to watch his precipitous weight gain happen straight through. I noticed it much less in real time back in the day.

There are more one liners and clever bits in one episode than most shows ever manage across their lifespan. David Chase is a genius and that cast is a once-in-a-lifetime combo.

1000%!

it's good the episodes are less than 30 mins, but to be honest even that is stretching things to the limit. the 2nd episode was better than the first one.

I think I'm gonna wait for season finale to watch it in bulk

There are so many inside references in every episode, it takes me several analysis videos to find them all, but the terribleness of episodes 1-2 was part of the aesthetic. It also will tie into Doctor Strange & the Multiverse of Madness. Possibly:

Haven't been in this thread for a bit, but wanted to follow up on Search Party. After 3 episodes, my girlfriend and I still weren't sure whether we should continue or not. Some of the characters were annoying and it wasn't going anywhere. We decided to keep going as we were invested...and boy are we glad we did. This show is fucking great. All caught up now with the current season, 4. Always nice to start a show when there are already several seasons out. Highly recommend this one.

Enjoying the What We Do in the Shadows series more than the I did the movie, although I really like Jemaine Clement and wish he was in this. At times it feels like it's trying too hard, but for the most part, I dig it.

Also been watching Big Love on HBO. In season 3 out of 6 right now. It's not great, but interesting as the mormon and polygamist lifestyles are foreign to me. And we're invested. Haven't found another hour-long drama we both want to watch so we're continuing.

Also enjoyed How to With John Wilson as others have mentioned, but all caught up. Strong Nathan For You vibes, which makes sense Nathan is executive producer. Only thing I don't like about it is that I get a feeling that John is faking his awkwardness a bit. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But it's good content nonetheless.

Oh I just remembered I finally started watching Jett with Carla Gugino. Watching it on my own as my girlfriend didn't seem interested, so only watching about an episode per week at this point. Only 3 in. It's not bad, I feel like I would enjoy it more if I didn't use my phone as much while watching, and if a week didn't go by between episodes. Nice eye candy of course.

The Investigation

I have been watching this true-crime drama, pretty good. A slow paced 6 parter but I like the science involved and it highlights the frustrations of the police and their imperfections.

gf decided to watch Fate: The Winx Saga (2021-...) cause she used to watch Winx Club as a kid.
Well, it's absolute shite. Complete and utter trash. The writing is abysmal. The dialogue is unreal.
Some real quotes form the first episode:
• "Quit perving on the first years."
• "Must be emasculating to be replaced by a teenage girl."
• "I have to be a basic bitch like my mom was."
• "She’s crazy hot but the emphasis is squarely on crazy."
• "- I mean, it's five girls in an enclosed space, so it's a matter of time before we descend into a Lord of the Flies situation and kill each other. - Lady of the Flies, sweetie. Don't be sexist."
• "Don't you feminist with me."
• "How very American of you. Shall we?"
• "And yet I saw no less than three people updating their Insta stories."
• "Are you the one person in the universe who's never read Harry Potter?"
• "People have seen me in this outfit already."
• "I'm literally your biggest fan."
• "Probably shouldn't have said arsehole in front of the headmistress!"
• "I literally went out earlier today."

Might be behind the curve here but I took out a subscription to Shudder and have enjoyed Blood Machines (for both the heavy visuals and the stupendous soundtrack), and am now working through the French sci-fi series Missions.

F is for family was surprisingly way better and funnier than I would have expected at a glance. I think I'm late to the party on that one but check it out if you are too
