anyone watching the new house of cards season? i think it's the best yet. i wasn't super into the previous two seasons, it seemed like they weren't trying to go for what washington is really like in all its multifaceted madness, and instead just took a few parts from it. this season seems more fleshed out and they dont just focus on like 3 dynamics for the whole thing.

just watched the 1st one, pretty good,is it me or has spacey aged a lot, while his wife continues to be stunning, actually enjoyed the doug rehab parts

spacey got fat.

Top of the Lake - There's a surplus of dread laden crime shows these days, but this is a quality example. Elizabeth Moss is floundering with that accent though.

Ashoka Tano (she should be around age 50 at this point in time) and Darth Vader both showed up on the season finale of Star Wars Rebels, setting up an excellent season 2. There was also an awesome lightsaber duel, with Kanan besting the Inquisitor (at least for now) using dual lightsabers (including Ezra's gunsaber). Also, Tarkin apparently suspects Vader is Anakin, although that's behind the scenes for now.

Positive Metal Attitude

Man Seeking Woman - Last episode where he becomes conjoined with his girlfriend had me crying during the Bro-Kennel sequence.

Last Man on Earth - Show has some chuckles, not sure about the staying power of it, but I'm comfortable watching it. Especially when laying on couch.

I was halfway through season 4 of Lost and decided to stop wasting my time and watch The Wire for the third time.

yea, don't worry about it. What you're imagining about Lost is far more creative than what came to fruition in the end.

Very true.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

House of Cards Season 3 = 3/10. Frank Underwood a former dog killer and fuck buddy murderer (via train) becomes president and starts getting cold feet about killing children in drone strikes, his wife (who threatened to kill a woman's unborn child) express genuine moral outrage over the killing of a gay dissident. Most unbelievable shit they could have possibly done. I kinda knew American writers wouldn't have the humongous balls required to write a show where the sitting president of the united states is still a sociopathic cold blooded, false flag staging murderer, but still a giant missed opportunity. Show shit the bed forever. Viva X-files era cynicism, down with Cold war 2.0 House of milquetoast

goddamn why do you have to be so fucking dense in regards to every possible issue?

it doesn't take anything to write the show as idiotic as you propose. people are complex, one may take pity on some cute wounded kitten and take it to the vet but all the while consuming meat that causes immense suffering to other animals. underwoods are ruthless towards what they perceive as their enemies but they are not completely inhuman and not without their own virtues and values.

it's like every fucking media product has to be some dramatization of "breaking the set" for you.

Peter you've lost the news. You're lying in a news grave, what does it say on your headstone?

are you saying you actually liked them turning Frank Underwood from a sociopathic murderer who threw his fuck buddy into a moving train to a much nicer dude? Eugene, did you even watch it? id be surprised if you were even ok with the extremely generic politics at play in the new season, they seem even too milquetoast and paint by numbers for someone with the over the top apologist political disposition you have.

Edited by John Ehrlichman

what nicer dude? he's still a president who killed his fuck buddy and will kill again when needed. follow the development of the characters not your projections.

you know absolutely nothing about my political positions so don't even start with it.
