actually, i grew up in the 80's and 90's. :)

but i meant, to grow up, like.. in the 90's and 2000's... so much shit 'pop' music around... but you know this, anyway.

and yeah it's true i agree, it's not about basic or complex. complex doesn't always do it. but... , like not even 3 instruments.. 808 samples, a bass synth and some looped vocal samples... it just leaves a lot to be desired, .. which, like i and others have said, is probably why you will need a DVD feature to go with.

you've got a lot to learn, rixxx. god bless u, tho :)

I actually grew up listening to a lot of soul and blues music, with plenty of 70s thrown in for good measure. It seem you are indeed, soulless, you don't feel the music you only hear it.

Yes Warp Film, are doing something with the BBC as I said before, but I don't see why a documentary is so necessary to you guys? Did you need one for jungle? Was it so important for grime?

lol. but grime and jungle were interesting enough on their own! and Mike will know that!

i don't really get this footwork shit yet... til i see it, i guess...

otherwise, i don't know, just seems like a complete non-event.

I like footwork music, but it's easy to get burnt out on it. it really is dance music in the truest sense of the phrase. I like how spacey and detached it can feel to listen to it.

they've always been different, but you guys lump them together.

i don't. i've just started listening to 'footwork'. honestly. and it doesn't sound like much to me. sorry. but if it's just meant as some sort of background music to people breaking? i can understand that. i wouldn't buy it otherwise, tho! it really does sound like my rough demo's from 10 years ago. which were just learning exercises. i don't just don't get or see the point in this whole thing yet...

there's a diffrence, but it's in the listeners, not the music. the people who freaked out to jungle in their teens are now in their 30s, with years of experience making their own tracks. Of course they are going to respond diffrently to a new genre now than what they would have then. If they let their response to something that is just as genuinely new and interesting as jungle and grime be coloured negatively, then thats just a bit sad.

tl:dr = if jungle came out today, wattum would have a 50 page WHAT IS THIS SHIT ITS JUST KIDS SPEEDING UP SOUL SAMPLES I COULD DO THIS IN 5 MINUTES IN FRUITYLOOPS LOL I JUST MADE AN AUTOMATIC JUNGLE GENERATOR LOL LOL LOL thread

wrong.

in all the tracks i've listened to so far there's hardly anything going on.

you would'nt even need a fruity loops automatic anything to generate this, and i'm not even old.

it's very VERY basic. but like i said if it's background music to people dancing... that's different.

but i don't get why it's been released already as this 'wow' big new thing! lol.. without a film or other frame of reference?

just seems like a lot of bullshit to me atm, .......and i'm an old fan of Mike's old stuff. - just don't get what he's doing with the label these days. kinda seems like it's all a lot more style over substance now. and whatever's 'new' for a second or considered trendy by the 20 years old's is immediately released...? - cheers, rixxx! lol

I kind of like footwork, though I haven't listened to it much. And I love most IDM-musicians interpretations of it.

But I can't get behind that dancing. It feels very nerdy, to the extent that if white people had come up with it I believe it would've never become popular.

well I'm not learning any new smooth moves as my Van Damme routine is more than adaquate for most senarios however I do find this 'footwork' more danceable than most dubstep I hear about where I find stomping around like a Tyrannosaurus (arms tucked into chest too)is the only thing that works with a nose full of drugs

I do agree that the genre on a whole needs more development however the groove is a little more fresh than the ususal dubstep, DnB and house out there

Jonas, I have already done what you have asked, the juke I posted is however made by footwork producers so it is more 'footwork-y', Chissy murderbot is very juke-y, it's music to shake your bum to.

im sorry but that is total horseshit

listen to that traxman video you posted and then listen to some marvellous cain.

your "if jungle came out in 2012" argument is bollocks. if these juke tracks came out in 1993 they would still be fucking rubbish.
