Tracks that immediately draw you into their beauty with full, hard-hitting intros. Like these:

Mercury Rev - Close Encounters of the 3rd Grade

Steve Reich - Music for Large Ensemble

Autechre - fwzE

Locust Toybox - Mash Market

Squarepusher - An Arched Pathway

Bjork - Innocence

AFX - Love 7

Plaid - Little People

Philip Glass - Dance 1 (from Einstein on the Beach)

Beck - The New Pollution

Limp Bizkit - Nobody Like You

Your turn.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67ER3SsLQY8 (I can imagine any kid that went to any of the gigs Randy Rhoads did with Ozzy went home and started playing guitar immediately)

Honestly I can't think of too many electronic intros. Usually it's just the rhythm playing quietly before anything else comes in. Evenon that orbital one, but it somehow just sounds really ace there.

Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I - V) and Atom Heart Mother

The 3rd Time We Opened The Capsule (KItchens of Distinction)

Prayer To God (Shellac)

백호야~~~항상에 사랑할거예요.나의 아들.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

Anything about a perfect track always includes this because this track is perfect.

ABSOLUTELY!!! I've always maintained that this is the best intro ever created for any song ever!

Also, I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet:

For years I had only heard this track as it appears in the first episode of "Blue Jam", where the intro is cut out entirely. Yet it still opens perfectly, with a strong beat that leads into an anticipation of what's to come. When I first heard Post, with the full intro to Isobel, I was quite surprised. This beautiful track had this perfect intro to it all along...

For those who haven't heard Blue Jam, here's the clip I'm talking about:blue-jam-se01-ep01-clip.mp3

It's probably just Chris Morris and Adrian Sutton's insane musical talent that make this work. Still, now that I've heard the original, I can't help but love it.

My brain nearly imploded the first time I put this one on.

EDIT: Actually, on the same note this (which includes most of the above but goes a little more intense - it's the version that's featured on the Wipeout 2097 intro sequence) -

I still get goose pimples hearing the intro section of this one.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.
