i thoroughly enjoyed death proof. the dialogue is fuckin A+ shit!

also it was made to be seen in theaters as part of Grindhouse. renting the dvd and watching it alone is a much less enjoyable experience.

i used the word enjoy twice but i don't fucking care anymore

I'm pretty sure this will be great fun. Yes it will.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

QT never disappoints. They all look badass in that picture. Sam J looks more black too lol

I'm so excited for this movie (even tho i hate jamie foxx)

Lincoln, the hobbit and django, what a great way to end the year in movies.

i hope it's better than Basterds, i thought that was his biggest misfire since Kill Bill. I'd even argue Death Proof was a more solid film. The exposition and mis-cast nature of Basters just kills it for me. Not to mention the jarring voice overs in parts like explaining to the audience that film stock is flammable, it feels almost like someone copying QT, in the same way Burton's new films feel like Burton copying himself.
The best parts in the film feel practically like a different movie than the rest of it, like the intro, the bar scene and the restaurant scene. All building up very nice tension, but just about everything else is not very good.

I'm pretty sure you're not a troll but wow what a ridiculous statement that is.

Gonna rank QT movies cause this is the internet and we rank things:

-- Movies i loved

Reservoir Dogs

Inglorious Basterds

Pulp Fiction

-- Movies i liked

Death Proof

-- Movies i didn't liked/never finished

Kill Bill 1&2

Jackie Brown

hey i thought Death Proof was shit, i was using it to illustrate just how poor i thought Basterds was. And it's painful for me to say that because parts of it are actually extremely skillfully done, some of QT's best scenes to date. Cut out every scene with the Basterds themselves led by the terrible miscasting of Brad Pitt and Eli Roth and i think it would make a pretty decent film.

If you rank Jackie Brown as a movie you didn't finish and didn't like, I wouldn't just call you a troll but someone with not great taste

tbh you could cut 45 minutes out of Jackie Brown while still keeping the plot completely intact, and end up with a better movie to boot.

actually agree, Pitt was terrible and unfunny.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

-organized confused project

Jackie Brown was the perfect length, and no other movie shows the mundanity of being part of a criminal conspiracy better.
Django looks pretty good though, i'll definitely be going to see it in the theatre. I will give credit to Basterds for being sort of experimental, it's as if QT wanted to mashup the serious tone and atmosphere of Barry Lyndon (opening scene, bar scene, restaurant scene) with a really cheesy unbelievable ham fisted anachronistic WW2 b-movie with unrealistic acting (the rest of the film). If that was his intention he succeeded, it just doesn't work as a whole for me. The 'jew bear' thing was just silly as shit, and not in a good way.

The basterds were ham fisted perhaps because real soldiers enjoy war because of what they see in the movies? Definitely at least agree with Eli Roth being in it, stupid casting. Brad Pitt did a great job, I just think it came off weird because it was more clear he was acting due to how different his voice was, felt a bit forced. But if he was an actor who I hadn't seen a lot of then it fit the role well as he was second funniest to Waltz. Also the intensity of the tone of the "good" scenes was of greater intensity because of the lighter material. The very first scene pulls off the whole scope of the films emotional tone really well and does a good job of catching us by surprise. I think its one of his best. But whats the point in ranking them. I would recommend any of his films to someone if they hadn't seen it.

I have always been curious if Tarantino was intentionally drawing a parallel between the genocide of American aboriginals and the Holocaust with the scalpings, or if it was an unintentional irony. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Christopher Waltz did a great job, but all in all I felt like it was fairly weak and self indulgent. Definitely some good scenes, but largely it felt like a series of scenarios that a child would play out with his G.I. Joes.

To each his own of course.

I agree with you that Eli Roth was fucking HORRIBLE

but I don't get the hate for Brad Pitt's character...I thought he was the second-funniest in the entire movie. The first of course being Mr. Waltz.

edit: wtf I actually agreed with Compson on something?

That deserves a celebration

So nobody is talking about this?

I had high expectations going in, I saw it and my jaw dropped several times. Every day after seeing it I think more highly of it. It's quite a balancing act - dealing with such offensive subject matter, some of QT's most gruesome scenes, and more comic relief than any if his films. One scene near the end just explodes into action with SO much energy. I was beginning to feel really jaded abut films, feeling like nothing could really surprise me, but I was really glad to see this. Also, Christoph Waltz should be in just about every movie. He stole the whole damn thing.

Yeah the film was fantastic. i don't know why you say that it had more comedic relief though. i felt that it was much more serious than most his films. the gore and subject however were way more intense than his usual. and i agree about Waltz, he totally was the best character. more so than Samuel imo. which i think is funny cause out by me the previews never even showed him in the film. the film is about Django, and his name is in the title, yet it felt like Foxx was a sidekick the whole time.

either way, amazing movie. might even go see it again.

Edited by Frankie5fingers

His best yet, I can't wait to go see again.

I need a hundred black coffins.

Hard for me to say which of Waltz/Foxx/DiCaprio gave a better performance, Sam was great but definitely below the others for me.
