New Harmony Korine movie Spring Breakers with Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and James Franco. What the fuck?

This is fucking hilarious. I am so happy right now.

For those of you who don't know Harmony Korine, he's an indie director who made Trash Humpers and other strange movies (slightly nsfw; contains old people dry humping trash):

Only love for Korine from here. Based on the cast, I'd say this probably has a lot more in common aesthetically with 'Mister Lonely'.

I am so happy right now. That seems so Korine; getting Disney actors to star in crazy indie films. It might very well launch him into the mainstream.

as a longtime fan who 'hated' mr lonely, i feel like this may be good. but as far as i care he can make 100 shitty stabs at arthouse mainstream cinema as long he keeps making trash humpers or juliens every once in a decade.

Julien Donkey-Boy is his best work that I've seen in my opinion. I've only seen Trash Humpers, Gummo, and Julien, though.

I saw Trash Humpers in theaters, actually.

mr lonely is squeaky clean and weird.

and julien is probably the heaviest movie ever. evan bremner is simply amazing.

I have only seen Mister Lonely, and thought the nun story was stupid, like a dead baby joke thrown in alongside a story about self-worth and identity.

Julien Donkey Boy was great,. sorta disliked everything else so far. I really admire the guy's artistic sensibilities for the most part, but it seems like he has just a little too much creative freedom with the story, etc. Sometimes it comes off as incredibly self-aware parody of arthouse, but it isn't always entertaining and Im not sure if that was Korine's intention. Something tells me his fans don't see it that way.

When I first read about this I must have confused Korine for Larry Clarke. I could easily see this being a 'Bully'-type movie.

I bet the core of the story involved a Vanessa-Selena sandwich in Harmony's mind.
