i have reported this thread

completely fucking asinine that someone has made a thread in new releases about this.

Really? There's a ton of threads in this forum based off obscure references and cryptic messages.

Yes really. Facebook 'announcements' cannot be taken as gospel.

As proof, you will notice that the "yes" response that was given on Facebook has since been removed.

Uhhh, I'm not sure what link you're looking at but the confirmation by BoC themselves is still there. You might need to click on "Previous Comments" though since the thread is pretty big.

there is no 'Previous Comments' link. and besides....Facebook one-word answer does not constitute confirmation of anything.

I do not have Facebook.

Fair enough, if it's still there for people who actually have an account, I guess it's still there.

still doesn't mean anything, considering that the guy that runs the Boards of Canada Facebook page has been dropping hints that a new album is 'imminent' since 2009

Yes, I'll agree that it doesn't mean TOO much... but in the BOC-universe it's pretty big, I guess...

if this is 'pretty big' then eat your heart out on some massive BoC universe news

you know what the worst thing about all this bullshit is?

if it turns out to be true...if it turns out that a new Boards of Canada album is actually finally coming, people like me who value proper announcements over stupid fucking pub-talk hearsay will be rebutted.

"oh you didn't have faith"

"see, told you!"

Sorry, no. Anyone that has that kind of outlook on this can go back to your fucking pathetic BoC cult.

Return to fucking truthiness.

The reason of the apparent silence from the BoC camp is that they are finalizing a deal for a reality show that will follow the production of their new album from start to finish along with other shenanigans such as hippy parties in the Scottish highlands.

Warp records is one of the 600 or so people that 'liked' the comment (this is from Twoism, but I looked at the list to confirm)

Why would warp and BOC let someone just run their facebook page like that if they are not officially associated?

The same reason that twoism.org and watmm.com allows the same person to have administrator status and is trusted by the respective forums' owners.

It's ridiculous how reason and common sense get thrown out of the window, all because of a single monosyllabic word uttered by the great ones in their high tower on the world's most legitimate and impartial news source, Facebook®

Fanboys froth at the mouth, internet 'blogs' start regurgitating bullshit, and the cycle continues.

It's the fucking BoC Centipede (First Sequence)

Well, I guess I just see Facebook as a more official space. And a more public one. I mean Warp was always a bit unusual, like their artists, but if they ever thought about brand or public appearance it is quite a risk to let someone outside run the page saying 'yes' to posts about rumors etc. Well, whatever, I hope there is a new album. :)

Seriously, why would you view Facebook as 'a more official space'?

Facebook has become the best marketing tool ever for companies, do you know why?

Plausible deniability.
