Portugal has the worst team in ages: the starting 11 is OK, but the bench is laughable...I guess if Ronaldo can decide it (like he never did, just as Messi doest not also at Argentina) we can maybe take a shot on the quarter-finals, semi-finals at the very best...

Still i think Germany (my guess to win the Euro anyway) will steamroll Portugal at the 1st game, we will have to win Denmark (something that has not happened often in the last years) and a win against the Dutch also something i only think an inspired Ronaldo can do...

I can't think of a more significant omen of England's imminent but hilarious Euro collapse than the collective manner in which Andy Carroll's end-of-season performance has been blown wildly out of proportion.

He was merely competent, not Shearer.

A colleague has said numerous times that Carroll is better than people think at the moment and "almost won the FA Cup for Liverpool"... Really? So not scoring a goal is now almost winning? If we're going by that sort of logic then I almost won the FA Cup for Liverpool too.

Carroll has promise for the future, but he'd have trouble getting into the Danish national team at the moment.

It's frankly insane that Sturridge or Crouch wasn't taken and probably some sort of conspiracy that Carroll is pushed into the team ahead of Defoe and even Holt.

the best bit of today was watching Roy Keane pretend that he could stand to be in the same room as Viera for more than 20 minutes. When Viera said "new mates" Keane's face was fucking classic.

Also that Spanish ref must have been high when he was handing out the yellow cards to the greek lad.
