Based on what - the assumption that you know BoC makes decisions based on what their fans (or anyone) thinks?

based on the fact that, as much as they pay lip service to "demystifying" themselves, I think they really enjoy being enigmatic, aloof, and teasing their fans with long silences and cryptic hints. IMO they do seem like the type who would get their knickers in a twist if the fans "beat them to the punch" in terms of exposing an upcoming album name/concept.

Not intentionally flaming this fire.... it just seems that when BOC or lack of BOC is involved, there are never any straight answers. Even if it was a simple press release along the lines of "hi guys, we wont be releasing any more music. Thanks for your support"

It's not a matter of straight answers - they don't owe us a reason or explanation as to why the new releases have been delayed - there is of course reasons behind it, but until they want us to know (or feel it's relevant/any of our business) we just need to be patient and until they say "stop holding your breath, it's never coming out", not assume the worst or that they don't care.

Has anyone actually visited NewClearDawn.com recently? I'm not exactly clear as to how this pertains to Boards of Canada, but it now displays the following image, which appears to have an aesthetic BoC would enjoy.

Maybe I'm not enough of a boc fan, but I'm going to sleep. Wake me up when there's actually an album.

I'm going to quickly link Left Side Drive to remind you all that no matter what happens in the next few months or years we still have an amazing catalogue of music to listen to and enjoy. And while yes, it's fun to search for connections that may or may not be there the real reason we're all here is because of the music.

I think we all get a bit "lost in the weeds" from time to time on this forum.

not be an asshat or anything, but if you got into the band way before campfire headphase, it's rather hard to still rely on the back catalog. it's no aphex twin where there's tons and tons of stuff all around. i don't mind them not releasing anything again ever, but the 'there's still older albums to listen to' card got old long time ago.

plus you can listen to everything they've put out in less than 12 hours, sure most of it's great but there isn't really that much of it
