I went to a vegan bar without realising the other day and ordered a burger without thinking about it, i got a mushroom in a bun. it was nice enough but that is some crippling dissapointment.

aye, like someone mentioned a salmon burger earlier... a piece of salmon in a bun is just a piece of salmon... in a bun.

as is a mushroom.

my mrs once got a fried egg in a bun served as a veggie burger.

if i shit in a bun it doesn't make a burger. if i put a pizza in a bun it isn't a burger.

imho

forgot to snap a picture of it, but I got an "ultimate chicken burger", which was chicken, bacon, cheese, onions & mushrooms. so tasty

Without evidence I don't believe you.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

I'll be sure to get another some time with a picture

might not look like it in the pic but these were sooo tasty and juicy. i tried a different cooking method i found online(instead of grilling).... they're dry fried on a very hot pan til crispy and brown on the outside, then when you put the cheese on you drop the heat and put a lid on so it steams in it's own vapours and the cheese absorbs into the burger. keeps it really moist and full of flavour!

My god that sounds amazing - By 'dry fried' I take it that means no oil. Have you got a link to the method you used ?

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

as long as it's cooked all the way through, they look nice keltoi. Also top tip. You can stuff with cheese yaknow ;-p gouda or mozzarella being nice gluggy rather than oily candidates.

Stuffing with cheese is a bit gimmicky delet. Takes time and fiddly for little reward imo.. And it takes up room for meat when cheese on top works just fine. It mightvlook anaemic in the pics but its cooked perfectly.

Mcbpete i'll try find my inspiration but I read it a while ago... Been meaning to try for some time. It was a burger van in London's blog or something. Except they used a hot plate.

making some hickory smoked bison burgers with smoked gouda and truffle oil on a brioche bun... finish with some red alder smoked sea salt and garlic/truffle infused mayonnaise.

No veggies or other toppings on it. Will report back with pic ;)
