A few albums recently listened.

I've listened to death metal for a long time but I literally listened to this album once through and started it over again.

MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA - VISIONS OF THE EMERALD BEYOND

Not main phase Mahavishnu but they play so tight on this record -- it's inspiring

CAN - SOON OVER BABALUMA

Swimmy krautrock acid with lyrics about ashtray violence, crows, and race cars

TODD RUNDGREN'S UTOPIA - RA

Todd creates a prog rock band - Singring and the Glass Guitar ('nuff said)

This new Metz album is the best thing Sub Pop’s put out since the days when Kurt was still around. Definitely doesn’t sound like it’s from that era, but it feels like it is. I guess the Wound Tight song does sound very early 90s Fugazi though come to think of it. 
 

Three Deerhunter albums: Cryptograms, Microcastle and Halcyon Digest. Absolutely obsessed with their stuff at the moment.

Also listening to a lot of Atlas Sound and Lotus Plaza (Solo work of Bradford Cox and Lockett Pundt of Deerhunter respectively).

I haven't listened to him since Slaughterhouse (great record as far as I remember). The man is productive, which record (singular) released since then would you recommend ?

those are the ones that I feel like have the most consistent focus but honestly they are all good and have something unique to offer. 

three bells (his most recent one) Is pretty good too.

prior to slaughterhouse, Melted is definitely my favorite. That might be my favorite of all of his.
