And I suppose making music for free is what's in trend now then?

How people expect good things to keep miraculously appearing without compensating their creators is a pretty backwards expectation, especially if people respect said creators.

Somehow they get compensated ;-) But whatever man, I couldn't pay for all the music I listen too, I'd have to be rich, but hey each to their own!

Mellow U,

i was joking when i said that paying for stuff is outdated, but somehow it is true.

things change.

the physical value of music or movies, for example, isn't the same as when we were kids. nowadays tv shows torrenting is probably the most effective way of getting it advertised and spread. if consider this, chances are that you will find a new way of monetizing. it's a matter of accepting change in the first place.

the same goes for music.

your label talking is part of the past already and won't take you any place

Ah, thanks for the support there man! Good to know I can count on you.

No, no one gets compensated unless someone like myself or chenGOD pays for the music they listen to. There isn't some unseen aid program or royalty dispensation for artists that happens when someone downloads their work instead of buying it. To assume stealing music, esp. from independent artists and labels, is a victimless crime is quite naive.

Granted, as someone who is well below the poverty line according to the IRS, I can fully sympathize just how hard it is to hear everything you want to hear without downloading it, so I'm not judging you. I just want to make the distinction that there is no other way for labels and artists you like to support themselves and/or continue releasing work you will like without money entering the picture.

Not really, nowdays you can support artists in many ways. It's the XXI century!

I buy merchandise, and I will go to live performances anytime I can. If I don't really like something then I wouldnt buy it anyway, they would never see anything coming from me. This way, even if I don't like their stuff that much, I still have the possibility to spread the word, to share it with other people that may enjoy it more than me. In my personal case, I download at least an album a day. I'm a hardcore music consumer, no arrogance inteded, that's just how it works for me and any music fanatic nowdays. The thing is I can't buy an album a day, some of them aren't even on sale anymore or the artist is dead aldready. So yeah, keep doing your thing but it doesn't change the fact that you are missing ALOT.

Rumor has it that in some places over Siberia everything is over already. it's a matter of time before it comes here

Fuck...

Anyway, you could never access so much music before. The times have changed, what's better, to give little or to give nothing at all??

Stuff worht writing home about so far:

The Gasman - Hiding Place

Best from The Gasman in a long while. Lots of piano sample reverb on this one. Really enjoyable.

Shitmat - Mash Hits 1-50

Starts of great and then it goes to to noise/-800%/glitchcrap and back and forth throughout. But it's free and it's fucking funny.

The Squire Of Gothos - We Do Jeff Goldblum Things

I can't get enough of Squire of Gothos. Lots of plays on this one.

Mr 76ix - Experiment Four

Awesome! Really good. 76ix Yeah!!

I like it!

Venetian Snares - Fool The Detector

Randomer - Scruff Box/Get Yourself Together

Bob Hund - Låter Som Miljarder

Mabye not so interresting if you're not swedish but it's fucking super good.

I've quite enjoyed the Kindred EP so far. The last track, "Ashtray Wasp" sounds a bit like two tracks mashed together, like the last bit is an add on. Still though, quality tracks. Really enjoyed.
