Much prefer this to the Rene Hell split.

That was quite a let-down, right

been listening to a promo of this for about a week and enjoying it more with every listen. a couple of duff tracks but generally there's a ton of depth that you can really sink into. i'm actually enjoying it more than Ravedeath or Replica - but I didn't rate those two as highly as most people seemed to.

Good to hear, I liked what I heard from the sample and have it preordered, can't wait!

a lot more interesting and unpredictable than anything Tim Hecker has put out solo by a long shot. I approve. I still have absolutely no clue as to why Tim Hecker gets the love he does.

haunt me haunt me do it again is my favorite. I also love mirages. Rave Death rambles so much in the beginning and is rather unpleasant. I like the first rack, don't like the next few, but i really like the last few.

The only reason this is noteworthy is because it is OPN and Hecker, both pitchfork babes. I'm not interested in hearing live improv that consists of nothing more than noisy samples and random hard panning. They are both capable of better. I'm basing this off of the one track I've heard though, uptown psychedelia.

Relent Edit: I mean, I like that they are collaborating, but it just isn't that interesting sonically or melodically. I would be really interested to watch a studio session between them though.

Bought it in Hamburg last december after getting finally a vinyl copy of Replica before. I must admit, they both did a extremely well job on this. I got the Software edition (means pressed on unrecycled vinyl), two nice and heavy black slabs. It's maybe no coincidence they referred to GRM with two tracks since they sound extremely well outbalanced and even interesting for people who are normally into more academic music.

I must honestly admit I found it way too short.

I keep coming back to this LP. Sometimes, I listen to it three or four times in a row without even getting the slightest bit bored. This is becoming the record of 2012 for me, out of nothing. Two brilliant musicians (and probably minds) having fun together.

I have to disagree with myself here. It's amazing. The OPN part is one of the weirdest, most terrifying thing, I've ever listened too.

Finally got around to listening to this and am really liking it. I think it's a great mix of Lopatin's bright, stuttered pads and Hecker's brooding, evolving drones. I was afraid one style would just be layered on the other (especially from the initial samples), but was pleasantly surprised.

Part of my was hoping to hear the Jetone side of Hecker pop through, wishful thinking I suppose.
