That's a cool quote, though.

"Everybody wants to get to heaven but nobody wants to die."

lol it sounds like its from Yogi Berra.

"Everyone wants to live forever but no one wants to die to do it."

the people who do want to die apparently can't get into heaven.

thanks, god!

so now Romney is quoted as having said Russia is still our number one adversary in the world, and he also goes on to use the death of the ambassador as a campaign talking point, which is pretty fucking despicable....I don't even think GW did that on the campaign trail.

also this was taken right after said press conference:

seriously lowblow disgusting shit.

Romney is being a cunt. it makes me very uncomfortable the way he's criticizing Obama as things are going down and sensitve decisions are being made that could affect more lives. its a cheap shot.

I declare this without sarcasm nor hyperbole - W was not that stupid, cocky, nor sinister.

I seriously hope they make an HBO special about this election so Jon Hamm can take on his most challenging role yet...

And it's exactly what the GOP and their target voters want - even if they're personally above that. I actually had a friend post some "joke" about sending cruise missiles instead of aid to Libya. I called him out about how that doesn't even make sense and he actually kinda apologized and even said he rather we should just pull out the military from anywhere in that region.

I guess my point, again, is simple - Republicans focus on bashing Obama and nothing else. For example, they're currently bashing him for not calling Egypt "neither an ally nor an enemy" this morning in an interview. They think he should make it clear they're an ally since we send them aid - and yet the first thing they said when the riots happened was that we should CUT AID TO EGYPT!

and yet there are an ample amount of legitimate very serious things to bash Obama about, none of which are being brought up by the republicans (NSA warrantless wiretapping continuing, gitmo still open, war on whistleblowers, bradley manning continuing to be detained beyond the legal maximum)

I have to say that i'm very pleased that i feel absolutely no pressure to cave and vote for the lesser of two evils, it's the first time in my life i've given this little of a shit, and it feels fucking great honestly.

I would say that but now having seen Romney show his almost sociopathic inconsistency at being a presidential candidate, this guy could do serious, serious damage to the economy.

From what Ive seen polling, the Repubs are also expected to retake the House and hold on to the Senate. Even before he's president, he's incurred threats from the Chinese gov't over starting a trade war (which we WILL lose) and the Russians, hes talking about active military confrontation in the rest of the Middle East, he's talking about supporting Israel in strikes against Iran, and then finally also suggesting to overturn the stimulus package which, given the situation in the Eurozone will almost surely completely fuck all Americans for decades to come.

edit: just to be clear, im still voting no confidence, pretty sure my state is going heavy for Obama anyways.

Romney is a mess when it comes to foreign policy and pretty much everything else, but there will still be almost half of the country voting for him thinking he's great. If he would win and starts a trade war with China and invades Iran and tanks the US even more, it would be interesting to see how his supporters would spin it. Probably blame it on Obama.

the biggest illusion is yourself

To me this election year marks the descent of the Republicans from dishonest rhetoricians to completely insane, stupid, hotheaded, and dangerous. I don't think I've seen such a large section of the country completely disregard not one section or event in history, but history altogether in favor of the custom formed Tea Party narrative.

most likely, Obama spent his entire 4 years in office blaming Bush, even though he gladly turned the other cheek when it came to the blatant war crimes the Bush cabinet committed repeatedly for almost a decade.

nah. if anything, that's the only thing they would give him credit for.

LOL i love this. Surely Mitt Romney will overthrow these new-found executive powers and reject our decades-long policy of illegal war-mongering.

I would have supported this prior to the election, but what good does it serve now?

If your platform is against illegal military interventions as a cornerstone of US policy, who the fuck do you vote for?

i dont think anything in the video implied that voting for Mitt Romney is a good idea. What difference does it make that we are in election season to stand up to the insane use of our military? I could understand getting sucked into the theater of it all, which i admittedly have but absolutely nothing will sway me to vote for Obama or Romney. Change is not going to happen through our manufactured electoral process every 4 years. You could vote for your principals and check Jill Stein, Rocky Anderson or Gary Johnson. They have no chance of winning since 3rd parties aren't allowed to take part in the same process unless they are billionaires like Ross Perot. The 'good' it serves now, at least to me is pointing out that regardless of the election coming upon us, our 'choices' are dire, it simply serves as a reminder.

I tend to disagree. This anti ad serves as more of the "Doing the right thing for the wrong reason."

It's not advocating votes for Romney, but it is mocking an ad in support of Obama. The idea being that undecideds are more likely to support the challenger, thus regardless of intention, securing votes for someone that may be even more abusive than the person we have right now.

I don't like it, and its pretty damn clear you don't like it Awe. But I can imagine how much harder it will be to push through progressive grass roots change and protest with a Republican president using the tools already used and abused by the Obama admnistration.

sadly, if Romney becomes president, the anti Romney movement will start with overwhelming force, much as it did under Bush especially in his last 5 years of being president. Liberals will be 'awake' again after being in the euphoric heroin induced coma they were in during Obama. Another 4 years of Obama might be worse overall if you think of things long term, If Romney is the face of all these new Obama + Bush policies liberals/progressives will actually start to be against them again. I see this as a good thing, but i am in no way advocating for anyone to vote for the lesser of two evils regardless of the reason. I think it's a much bigger waste of a vote than voting for a 3rd party. I don't expect anyone to agree with me, but i am unwavering in this belief.
