still haven't played shovel knight. stoked for it to finally land on sony platforms. hate having to boot up nintendo consoles to play their great games with shitty controllers so i only use it begrudgingly for first party games

hard to fault the wii u pro controller. sturdy and comfortable, more or less 360 controller layout but right joystick moved to the right (dumb position really but not a problem for Nintendo kind of games (ie. sidescrollers, indie games, virtual console)

and btw. looove shovel knight. those dream sequences with shield knight managed to strike a chord with me for some reason. gave the game juuuust enough backbone to make it feel emotionally substantial while still primarily being a NES styled sidescroller. good stuff :)

agreed.

it's the similar kind of thing to the wii wiimote thing. it can be fun if implemented well but 99% of the games that enforce it / tack it onto the gameplay miss the point and end up tarnishing the experience a bit. Nintendo are normally the only ones who know how to implement well (firm understanding of hardware/software I guess) so most 3rd party titles for last 2 wii consoles have been totally hit or miss. plus, the consoles are a few steps behind other current gen consoles at the time tech-wise (going for affordability) which means 3rd party support isn't always that great. such a shame cos I still love Nintendo but man they know how to fuck their shit up in the dumbest ways possible : )

Not to mention the poor devs have to code for multiple wack controllers if they want to release something on Ninty's obsolete tech.

I hope you can play the new Zelda with the Pro Controller, I never use the Gamepad.

also Duck Hunt coming 12/25

Positive Metal Attitude

I wonder why people hate the Gamepad so much. I haven't had any issue with it. I thought I would need to play Bayonetta 2 with the Pro because it feels more like the 360 controller, but trying to play the game with both, I realized that the Gamepad was much more comfortable to me. I kept missing the buttons on the Pro because it's so similar to the 360's controller and expecting the buttons to be in the same place, but the placement is completely different. I guess it's a matter of preference, but I haven't found a single Wii U game that I prefer using the Pro to play.

whole thing feels very cheap and light and i hate having the damn screen glaring up at me when i'm trying to play games in the dark :cerious:

so used to dualshock since ps1 that everything else feels alien (never owned an xbox of any kind).

Sony gets hacked more times a day than the amazon rainforest

lolz! AMAZON Forest©

Finally bought and started Octodad. First game I'm playing on my computer with a gamepad (I know, I'm quite late to the party here).

It's a really shitty gamepad tho and won't work with Binding of Isaac, which sucks...

Also : is Shovel Knight really worth 15€ ? It's out on Mac finally but 15€ for an indie, 8-bit looking game is quite a lot so...

PSN ddos attack is starting to piss me off. I can't even get the digital download versions of single player games to start. What shit.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Do you have a PS3 controller? You can hook that up and use it if you do, although you'll need a program like Motioninjoy for it to work right.

Also I only just started using a gamepad too, good stuff :gamer:> :watmm:

Played through good chunk of Shadowgate on NES last night. Omg this game is classic... The atmosphere still cuts through :)

Prompted me to buy Eternal Darkness on gamecube. Have mostly overlooked the horror genre so im pretty stoked^^ (just to wait for delivery on that one..)

Completed Portal for the first time, late to the party (and cake) but good, definitely worth the hype it received. Now to play Portal 2, got the two for £3.50.

portal is so awesome the first time you beat it. 2 seems a bit overblown imo. first one just got everything so right

I have DriveClub and AC:Unity on their way in the mail. Grabbed them for $30 each.

Warlords of Draenor continues to entertain me along with Dragon Age: Inquisition.

scooped nidhogg psvita/ps4 for 8.99 on sale this week. i assume most people would think it's overpriced as it's basically a 2 player couch coop game with practically no story/single player. only one character and four levels. it's really pretty fucking cool though. hoping a couple of my friendos will play it with me but they're usually sore sports and won't play anything after losing a couple of bouts -_-

oh man nidhogg is THE 2 player couch game. i mean. it wears thin a bit and you have to know when to switch it off but if you have mates over playing games its worth whipping it out and having a few games :) ultra competitive and good screamy fun.

speaking of which, played smash bros wii u last night with 4 peeps. that game is solid. first time i've really wanted to own a smash bros game and play through it 1 player. it plays alot like the gamecube one but finetuned to such a ridiculous extent that it feels kind of perfect?? v impressed :)

^awes. i'm hoping the whole simple to learn, hard to master aspect will appeal to people. really stoked for samurai gunn too (which was supposed to release this year on ps4/vita but has apparently been delayed) for the same reasons
