I remember a couple months ago reading a thing on how they're, surprisingly, still doing good business selling digital shit. I can't even comprehend it really, but I think most everyone buying digital stuff through them are children and the children's parents who don't know any better. One day they'll go out of business, but it's not today.

I started Doom 3 a year ago but had to stop when the skull-arachnoid beasts came out of the walls...That was TOO creepy imo - yeah, I'm kind of a pussy when it comes to creepy stuff !

 

Man, if that's too creepy for you, I'd love to see a Let's Play of you going through Silent Hill 3.

@Squee -- there's been no public media stuff for Doom 4, but they had a private showing of it at Quakecon that everyone who attended raved about. Seems like it's gonna be closer to OG Doom/Serious Sam.

For anyone who that sounds appealing to, but didn't see "Brutal Doom" when the craze last swept over WATMM, you should go look it up. It basically takes the original Doom wads, makes the AI way more aggressive, gives it CoD control scheme, and ups all the damage modifiers to compensate. Beautiful mod. Also ridiculously gory with gibs everywhere.

FInally played Diablo 3 on PS4. Very pretty and polished game.. but incredibly easy. Almost broken easy. I understand it has many more modes to play through and apparently gets a lot harder etc. But to play the game first time through on normal and beat hyped bosses in literally 15 seconds seems odd. I died only once and its because I was barely paying attention.

dude i've been playing it 2p... it must be easier because the bosses don't last 10 seconds even. still only part way through act 3 due to busy schedules and my gf's intensely anal desire to completely clear every new area map.

started picking up olliolli on vita again each nite to do the daily grind. usually end up w/a score of 0. such an awesome game though. stoked for pt 2. also started running through duke3d on vita (free on+ this month). didn't remember that there's only 4 enemies in the game apparently

Its apparently the normal diablo difficulty on PC, they nerfed it on consoles to make it appeal to the masses.

You can use Fire Emblem characters in Codename STEAM for 3DS using Amiibos. I knew that Marth would pay off! Lol

It is really odd even if going for mass appeal. Unless we are talking 'your grandparents will play it after a round of wii bowling' mass appeal.

The fIrst act I thought maybe I was just pretty good at the game ha. Not the case. It got truly brainless by the last act. Makes me not all that enthused to play 'nightmare' 'hell' etc. But maybe those modes on 'hard' will get the loot addiction going. Loved D2.

just play Grim Dawn instead and forget D3 ever came out :P

Even dumber than that pun (ha) is the fact you'll have to buy multiple Amiibos since only one Amiibo can store only one game at a time...

Well, you're partially right, to date, only Smash Bros lets you read/write to an Amiibo (which only holds 500k of data so not much) which is what erases the data.

Example: I level up Link to 50 on my console, then proceed to take him to Joyrex's house to kick his ass. Whoops! When I load it on his console, reset to level 1. The other games like Mario Kart & Hyrule Warriors read data only, so even just one Amiibo can unlock those upgrades across infinite copies of the games.

IE, I could unlock MK costumes & Link Spinners all day, then take him back to SSB, and he would be intact level 50. It looks like the next game to write data is Mario Party 10, but why bother.

So the Fire Emblem unlocks are just reads, they won't fuck up your Smash roster. One cool thing, the FE figures suffer "permadeath" where you have to rescan after every battle if they're killed.

Jeez, my new 3DS going for $900 on ebay, doesn't even release for another month.

I bought on steam sale. It doesn't hold up at all. But if you give me glquake I can stick with that for 10 hours non stop

Preordered resident evil remake for pc. Looking forward to that. Still need to fish stick of truth, Alan wake and binary domain on my steam list.

Yeah I gave up on Doom 3 a few levels in. The thing I liked about it most was the atmospheric sound design. It's still top notch, but after playing Far Cry & Borderlands for hundreds of hours that shooting in Doom 3 is frustratingly bad.

Girlfriend discovered Octodad last night. Seeing her laughing so much in front of a video game was kind of incredible...trying to train her so we can play it in coop next time !
Bad thing is : I had to lend her my computer...I'm glad she's already at half of the game !!

Aye, the amount of times I've played though Quake over the years - still has such an amazing atmosphere and game mechanics

 

Quake II. Such good memories. First online game I've ever played. And that soundtrack.. Still great.

I liked q2 but my computer didn't have enough ram for that beast and loading times where a pain. I was using a powervr so graphics were cool. I still prefer the medieval horror of quake by a long shot.

Only a decade later I found a game with such vibe: demons souls.

I wanna play Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon again. I think it's both the best and the most underrated in the series, though I haven't played the fourth one.
