What Video Games Are You Currently Playing

Darksiders 2 just didn't have the same appeal as 1 did with me. I beat 1 and couldn't bother to finish 2.

I keep lolling at people in this thread complaining about abysmally shitty story in a CryTek game as if it's not the most expected thing ever. Edit: oh, it's Ubisoft now? Shit, what the fuck, games these days.

I still need to finish Dead Space the First. I have to find time when my gf isn't home so that I can yell at the fucking game, without causing her undue distress, the next time I die 70 times in a row. What the fuck, why isn't a fully upgraded plasma cutter removing your goddamn limb you fuck you fuck you fucking fuck.

I think it's aimed at people who don't see daylight, but like to play games while on the shitter. Console looks disgaaasting.

I think peoples commentary on poor writing in FC3 is more a backlash against the writers claims to the contrary that gamers just didn't "get it"

Well, I think people were led to believe that FC3 would have an interesting story or at least some kind of twist because of the psychedelic scenes that hinted towards you being a fucking wacko. Also, with such strong and interesting characters it was a shame to see their stories lead to nothing. But hey, I would rather watch a movie/play a game with strong characters and a lousy story than the other way around.

Valve's released the final spec for their SteamBox (supposedly named "Piston"):

From all I've seen of FarCry 3 it seems to look good visually but seems like a pretty mediocre game as far as gameplay and story go, this seems to be the deal with a lot of CryTek's output. Hence why I never bothered much with Crysis or the other FarCrys as well...

I'll continue to wait for Bioshock: Infinite and The Last of Us next month

FC3 is made by Ubisoft Montreal.

Damn, you're right. That explains the climbing around in towers part.

I enjoyed Assassin's Creed II, but I never finished it.

Yeah, my reasons for not finishing were because I moved across the country and found it difficult to pick back up.

I have to confess, I'm approaching the end of second half of Bioshock and the lack of variety in the gameplay is starting to annoy me.

I run around killing splicers and the occasional Big Daddy. Rinse/repeat until the end?

There's been, what, one boss? It's pretty uneven.

The gameplay in BioShock is definitely NOT it's strong side. I gave up the first time I played it, which is usually not something I do (fuck you, Assassin's Creed 3), but then I started reading up on the reactions to the story, so I decided to start all over with the intention of playing finishing it... and you know what? The story is really interesting. I ended up writing 2 papers about it at the university.

It is interesting. Shame about the gameplay. The universe is incredibly rich and detailed.

I thoroughly enjoyed Far Cry 3. I should have the platinum at some point today. I just have to finish the last 2 co-op missions. I'm borrowing the game from a friend so I can't play online. I've just been playing it with my brother in split-screen. They really tuned down the graphics in co-op, which isn't that important really. We are having a blast playing it.

Next up is Dishonored.

Finished Sleeping Dogs. Gets way better near the end.
