I said to myself that if the reviews for Resident Evil 7 were positive I would buy PSVR. According to those who have played through the campaign both ways it's a night and day difference in terms of experience.

First footage of Switch's touch screen being used. Why they are not publicizing that is anyone's guess.

Because it's Nintendo and Nintendo have no idea what they're doing.

I've checked the Steam user reviews and they look promising. Sounds like Capcom have gone back to the franchise's roots, but in the first-person perspective.

Don't think I've bought a new game in five months. But now I'm considering this one.

Hoping for a few more Wii U sales before saying 'btw, you can play Wii U games on the switch'

And by 'few' I do mean 'few', as in 'not many'

Mostly because despite having a touchscreen, no game can rely on it since the Switch could be docked, thus preventing the screen from being used at all (best they could do is offer an alternate control scheme where you can press the on-screen button if you are in tablet mode, and/or the actual button on the controller).

As a result, no developer will build in touchscreen support - it's just like games ported to the Wii U from other sources that didn't have a touchscreen - there's no incentive to utilize it. Even worse, mobile games (which almost all are touchscreen native) will have to abandon their normal control scheme for a controller mapping (not that big of a deal though).

No Virtual Console DS/3DS/Wii U games (although having Wii U games as VC games on Switch is laughable since the processor probably couldn't handle the Wii U emulation plus the OS overhead at the same time).

Nintendo really, really didn't think this through. How could their engineers miss something so obvious?

yeah. i don't think anyone's gonna bother to program that capability in when it's not usable most of the time. so why waste the money on the tech needed for a touch screen? maybe later they'll release a cheaper version without touch...

Remember, the Wii Motion Plus could fake a pointer control on screen using its motion sensors, so some sites have postulated a game could use touch screen functionality in handheld mode, then change that to pointer controls in docked mode.  It does seem overly complicated and a backdoor solution, but Sony put a touch screen on the Vita, and how often was it used in gameplay?  It does seem overly fancy and an expensive component to only use for UI menu purposes.
