it definitely goes for the nintendo ones as well for sure. absolutely no reason not to just get a pi3 and have all these fucking mini consoles and more for much less (but this gets said every time mini consoles are brought up)

^^ lol yeah that too- although tbh i don't even think i'd add games. i remember when i played c64 back in the day i was too young to figure out how to play the games, not to mention i remember the games not being very "non-programmer-friendly" i.e. you had to type stuff in etc.

i always had this sinking feeling that i was missing out on some really amazing games- but i could never figure out how to play them

Funnily enough when I was a '64-er I actually spent most of my time (would've been aged around 7-9) mainly 'typing stuff in' as you could either buy a game for £3+ or get a book full of games for the same price. Was too young to realise the type-in games were actually rubbish!

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

finished my first campaign of This War of Mine, an indie sims-alike that puts the player in the shoes of a group of civilians struggling to survive during a conflict. I barely managed to survive the war with only 1 out my 4 characters alive. two were shot during night-time scavenging, one died of the winter cold, and the last one nearly "broke" (a depression game mechanic which can cause characters to become completely apathetic).

I've never really played a game that had me on the edge every turn quite like this, it was really something. I couldn't play it for too long at a time. had to make difficult choices and take risks on a daily basis just to survive, and there were often consequences. this game was inspired by the Sarajevo siege in the 90s and imo it really hits the mark with what it tries to do, props to the studio (these Polish indie studios have made something of a name for themselves, innit?)

really recommend it.

Got it for free with a PSN update some time ago, but got frustrated with loss of progress due to a game save bug.

C64 was my first ever experience with a PC. As far as starting up the games, all I remember is that you had to type in the command "LOAD" in order to run them. And of course you had to insert the floppy disk first. (the actual floppy ones, not the hard case)

I think Impossible Mission was my favorite game for it back then. There were also Space Taxi, Frogger, Scramble, Rambo, Loom...even a Bionic Commando C64 port.

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

Really disliked The Witcher 3, so switched to Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. Trying to go all stealth on hard. Some of the contracts seem impossible to do stealth.

You what?!

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

How's Watmm enjoying the new God Of War?

Only a few hours in so far, but it already looks and feels a bit special. I haven't played anything God of War since II on PS2, and even then I had no particular affection towards the series, yet I'm enjoying it a lot. There is more drama and intensity in the first 15 minutes than I was anticipating (the benefits of adopting a complete media blackout for the game prior to release). Will get some more played soon.

I may or may not have have reserved a PS4 Pro including God of War

Good for you - hope you have a HDR 4K TV to leverage it - supposedly the best way to play Dad of War on PS4 Pro is to play it at 1080 with higher frame rate and better antialiasing.

I do. I saw some 1080p vs 4k framerate comparisons and I'm definitely gonna go for 1080p

=D

Imbroglio just got a new expansion... so I've been obsessing over that for the last week or so...

=P

Templar Battleforce, Heroes of Steel and Death Road to Canada also all got some great updates over this last week... I've only briefly checked out DRtC though...

Too many games... not enough free time...

In January, despite some confusion, Bandai Namco assured us existing owners of the original Dark Souls would not receive money off its incoming Remastered edition. Now, the publisher has confirmed that they will.

Billed as a "loyalty discount", owners of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition can pick up Dark Souls: Remastered at half-price when it hits Steam on May 25, 2018.

Moreover, the Prepare to Die Edition—which costs £20/$20 at present and comes with the base game's DLC—will be removed from Valve's digital storefront entirely as of May 9. It will however remain playable for existing owners.

hi Joyrex, do you have a link for that, I'm currently using a free month trial of Prime, but can't find the deal.

After a month and about 50 hours, I finally beat Far Cry 5. The ending was

Regardless, it's still a genuinely fun game. Also looking forward to the DLCs and more Far Cry Arcade maps. Might even consider building my own.

Not checking that spoiler but I am very much enjoying Far Cry 5.  I've been consistently impressed with the series since Ubi took it over, especially the balls to go as heady & provocative as they do with their plotlines.

Counting down the days to Dark Souls Remastered.  Still haven't beaten 3... getting my ass handed to me in Irithyll.

Looking forward to playing the remaster at some point too...just may wait til it's on sale in a few months though. Everyone's saying good things about the remaster's quality so that's great.

Irithyll wasn't too bad, but definitely has a few stretches that are treacherous. What kind of build are you playing?

So I've received my PS4... I've hooked it up... I've bought Shadows of the Colossus... and I have no fucking desire to play anything.
